That's what I'm use to doing, OP provided a link, figured I'd look at it.
I'll just clear everything and reinstall...prefer to have signed stuff.

Hold your horses man!GZR Apps? WTF are this? Install GApps. Official Google Apps, just zipped into one file. Use THIS, just google apps without anything else, just make sure you choose correct architecture, and version - stock, pico, nano etc, this one is up to you. Download zip file, copy to Internal storage of the phone and install from recovery.
Never had any problems with Open Gapps, and this one are recommended in 90% of ROM topics. Of course, you have to install them having some Android ROM already installed.
When I change ROM I go to recovery (TWRP) and install chosen ROM, gapps and magisk in one go. Then delete cache/dalvik, reboot, and enjoy. First boot up will take some time (even 15-20 minutes - PATIENCE). I do not recommend installing gapps packages with a ROM which already has some Google apps "pre-installed". You will have two copies of the same app, like Phone, Contacts and so on, just different versions... So it can be confusing...

Sorry, can't check if OpenGapps works fine with mako and your rom. My first custom rom installation, I was using installation guide from the beginning of the topic, but I remember reinstalling NitrogenOS, and then installing OpenGapps on top and everything was working fine. So. what do you mean? Other packages of gapps won't work on mako then?? What are the differences?Hold your horses man!
Do you know system partition size of mako? Do you think that I've added the GZR gapps link in OP without any tests or experience with opengapps?? :silly:
Nitin
Again, it's not about ROM. It is about size of system partition of mako. Search any mako thread and you'll find the details.Sorry, can't check if OpenGapps works fine with mako and your rom. Hi Nitin,
I have enjoyed the fantastic rom from you so far. thanksI have a question about the use of the 'Google Home' app. It works fine with just one account but I'm unable to add multi user accounts. I keep getting the error message:- Google assistant is not your default assist app. I also have a US version of google Home but live in the UK.
Is this due to the Rom not compatible or the Google Home itself?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
JB

I had the same problem but click this link :- https://help.netflix.com/en/node/57688
then click the link on the page which says 'Click here to download the Netfilx app.'
Then install the download.
It worked for me, no problem.
