Hi, I'm planning to switch from miui 9.1.24 to NOS. Should I go ahead with the current one or wait for the next update (if the time is close)? And if the next update time is late, can I flash the test build that you shared here when some people were talking about echo issue.
On the same boat as you. Eagerly waiting for the update.

That issue is here to stay as it has nothing to do with ROM itself as the issue is with miui vendor.

Is this Rom more focused on having tons of unused features or is it more battery/optimizations focused? Looking for some light Rom with good performance with normal usage.

In my opinion, NOS is the best ROM for me, it's got all the main features that you'd use while being implemented well, everything is polished. Definitely give it a try. You can even use substratum without root. Thermal modes are there if you want more performance. Battery is great, though I'm using Franco kernel with it. Down side is no accent colors and dark mode doesn't cover everything, but again, substratum is there.

Personally I flash this to get accent colors zip in TWRP (different from one in magisk download section), and doesn't seem to be slowing down or glitching anything.

Definitely try it, I tried every ROM pretty much, and this is just my favorite. And dev is a great person and listens to feedbacks :)
