[ROM] ►[unofficial] [7.1.2] ► [DEB/FLO] ► Nitrogen OS N ► (4.29.2017)

 • For device: Deb/Flo
 • Authors build: @xyyx, @Mr.MEX
 • Source code: https://github.com/nitrogen-project | https://github.com/nitrogen-devs
 • Developers: @xyyx, @Mr.MEX
 • Thanks: all (Specially @zaclimon for deb/flo trees & kernel)
 • Google Apps: Open gapps 7.1 pico
 • Recovery: TWRP.

The rich functionality is based on AOSP, development was begun in September, 2016.

xyyx (Max) - main developer
Mr.MEX - developer

Copy the ROM and Gapps on phone.
 • Go to your recovery
 • Wipe Data
 • Install ROM and Gapps zip (DO NOT FLASH SUPERSU, SuperUser is included in the ROM)
 • Reboot - 1st boot takes around 3-4 minutes.
For the guys who want to use SuperSu instead of the SuperUser, here is the unsu zip: http://xyyx-dev.ru/nitrogen-os/Nitrogen_msm_UNROOT.zip

Flashing process: Flash ROM, gapps, unsu zip, SuperSu and reboot

Points to note:
1. You'll get SuperSu in app drawer and it'll work without any problems
2. If you reboot your phone, the app icon will disappear from app drawer but SuperSU will still work.

Enjoy

I'm off of work tomorrow. I'll see about boosting performance some.
Hey, just noticed this today. I'm running Nitrogen on my N5 and think it's great. Was wondering if you'd consider also compiling this for flo? Regardless, thanks for your contributions here.

Thanks,
Mike T

I wanted to test this Nitrogen OS build, downloaded the zip file from the link above, and tried to install it as a secondary rom (MultiRom) next to CM 13, and it failed:
Code:
...
Patching system image unconditionally
E1001: Failed to update system image
E: unknown command [log]
E: unknown command [log]
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Failed to install ZIP!
Restoring mounts...
Updating partition details...
Erasing incomplete ROM...
...done
What went wrong?

Thanks, Heinz

Im pretty sure the kernel that comes with the rom isn't multi-rom compatible.

I could try, but I'll need a tester.

Yea, just let me know. I was going to work on Deb yesterday, but I figured since deb and flo share somethings, I could try to get FLO going. and then fix up both at the same time.:)

From what I've been able to test so far, overall it runs great. I installed the rom and Open Gapps 7.1 pico 20161103 and installation went smoothly. I tried to check most of the fundamental things and with brief testing, wifi is fine, the camera is working for both still and video, the myriad of settings I tested worked as expected.

The baked in phh superuser seems to be working correctly, although I only tested root with Root Explorer.

The two issues I ran across, I get a "settings has stopped" (FC message) on every reboot or power up of the device. But if you simply dismiss the message, everything seems to work. The other issue was with the baked in browser. It behaves oddly ie; it tends to lag on launch and when you attempt to type in any search criteria, the text is invisible until you touch the area where you typed. Like I said, odd. LOL For both of these issues, I tried clearing data/cache for the respective apps, settings and browser but no go.

I didn't setup a Google account to do the testing, so I side loaded a few apps to test some stuff. Regarding the settings FC, I thought it might be the included Nitrogen Launcher, so I tried both Apex and Holo Launcher with the same results. As for the weird browser issue, Chromium worked just fine.

Well, that's the extent of my testing to this point, on my way out for dinner. LOL As I said up front, overall the rom runs great, I thank you for building it.
