Great effort to bring CROMI-X to the TF701!!

We will see if and when I will get one after the last 4 ones send back.
Will wait some time till it is 100% clear that the dock problems as are the disconnection problem and the excessive free movent when placed in the dock are cured by ASUS.

I think most of the tweeks such as the Power Menu are done from Gravity Box.
So far everything is running smooth and quick. :D
Thanks again

Having problem here. Although it isn't the ROM but more so the CWM recovery. I wanted to install this so a smart person would perform a back up. Well when I did it gave me option to backup to /sdcard. No problem it did the back up, now heres the problem. The directory and file isn't listed in the tablet. In CWM recovery it see's it just fine just not in the tablet. So I even tried via the PC, ADB shell, and adb pull and it won't find the back up directory. I for one rather have my backup on my 32gb external card but if I could at least move it there I would be happier in case something happens to tablet.

According to CWM the backup is in /sdcard/clockworkmod, when I go into that directory I only have 3 small files which are for settings in the recovery.

Ah yeah you are not looking in the right place. JB 4.2+ uses the sdcard differently.

You will find your backup folder here:

/mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup

Yeah I flashed it and honestly it looked no different than the stock ROM, even the annoying little quick launch on bar was there and no different. I did perform a factory reset/wipe and was on latest US firmware on Asus site. Although your ROM said it was gone and the pictures I see up here don't match mine. Just going to restore back to where I was.

edit: before I forget I didn't see your post but I was able to find it via recovery and adb shell and pulled copy to my PC, after i saw yours I was able to locate it via file explorer.

It's based off stock what were you expecting? It is optimised stock, much faster and smoother. I don't think you gave it chance and you haven't discovered the xposed modules to customise like my screen shots. ;)

i know it was based on stock rom but didnt notice difference between my stock and your rom. yes i have the xposed installed on both and enabled. mine is already stripped down with about 1g of junk removed. i did like the boot animation.

I think you are missing the point. There are no visual changes to the Asus ROM. It is optimised underneath so it will look the same. My ROM has a customized kernel, can run init.d scripts, all stock apps updated and moved to the system partition, all apks are deodexed and zip aligned, dalvik VM optimizations, debloated etc. These will greatly improve the experience and there are many more to come. It's only beta 2 ;) I will be adding features as the ROM grows. You can not do most of that with the stock ROM other than making it look pretty with xposed modules.

Your missing my point. I know fact theres no "visual" changes. What I was referring to was performance. Im not going to type it out honestly but I did find some things that seemed to work worse with it than without it. I would be for looking for a KitKat one tho :D

Sbdags is the reason why many keep his TF700, despite the error of Asus with the internal memory, the improvements in his room is awesome. Probably we can taste KitKat soonest, but it no have xposed modules, pre-rooted, one zip file to update, customized kernel, option to debloat in a few steps and a lot of features wich Cromi-X have. :D

I know what do you mean about your point :highfive:, because TF701 is really faster out the box, but Sbdags room go some steps ahead over the room provided by Asus. :fingers-crossed:

Well, why not type them out "honestly"?
Did you notice the b in the version number? Stands for "beta".
Any "honest" - and even better - earnest feedback is welcome and helpful! If presented in such a manner....

I've been using his ROM for a few days now and to be honest, I haven't noticed a HUGE performance improvement. That being said, this tablet is already extremely quick. So I think it would only be under certain circumstances where I'd notice a difference. I mostly use it for flinging my media to my TV using Plex and Chromecast, for browsing sites, checking emails, and playing a few games. It's extremely quick already, so the performance improvements sdbags has made aren't noticed directly, but I'm sure they're there.

Hey sbdags,

I'm now using your rom and I'm very happy with it. I really decided the ASUS UI was great when i got this tablet, and I plan on sticking with it instead of throwing on Roms with kitkat. Well I may try them.. lol, but I'm very grateful for you maintaining this ROM for us. The hardest thing for us devs to do is keep a balance between tinkering and ruining a product, and I'm very happy with CROMI and plan to continue using it as long as you continue distributing it..

Thanks again,
Larry
