Good but why asus can't do the same? or why they don't work with you? sorry for my question but i am
Lol... who knows. Antutu is showing better than Galaxy Samsung Note 2014 as well. BTW I checked dropping the res and it didn't alter the benchmarks at all. Need to find a more challenging game or benchmark for the graphics card to find the sweet spot for the screen.

Changing resolution boosts the 3D performance ;) 1200p feels pretty good, 800p just too ugly

I installed the ROM and it seemed to come off without a hitch. One little hiccup, however. When I open Titanium Backup, it notifies me that my android ID has changed, but I can't restore the old ID because TB is not recognizing my Pro key, which the only reason I can think is happening is because the ID is different. Pro key is installed but when I open TB, it isn't recognizing it. Force stopped TB, cleared cache and data. Did a cold reboot. I had restored apps from a TB update.zip originally and I thought maybe that screwed things up so I did a factory reset and started over, but still the same thing: TB doesn't recognize Pro key and won't restore Android ID without the Pro Key. I was thinking I might flash the ROM again but I think I'll wait until I get an answer here. In the meantime, I'm restoring the stock nandroid. I did do a factory reset before flashing the ROM. Oh, and I couldn't uninstall/reinstall TB because it's installed as a system app. I can't help but think I did something wrong or missed something obvious, but I can't for the life of me figure out what.
You have root! Just delete TB in /system/app and install it and the Pro Key from the Play Store. sbdags is aware of the glitch (happens because it's installed as a system app), next version TB will be installed to /data/app

Quick question: if I want to install the ROM, I will have to unlock and root first, but I will loose all my app settings. What is the best way to keep these settings? The only backup that I guess could work is the Asus App Backup tool, but is that also available on the ROM (or as separate apk)?

Yes it is available and yes it is the only way I know ;)

Thanks sdbags, just installed the rom and waiting for cromi to be released.

Only problem I encountered was that Titanium Backup would not recognize my Pro-key anymore after flashing the rom. Found out that the problem was that Titianium app was saved as a system app and the pro-key as a user app. Installing the app as user app fixed the problem.

How? ;) TeamWin have not developed one for the TF701......
I thought neither did CWM? At least it's not on their official list and it won't install on the TF701T thru their app.

I had to sideload and can only use the app to tell it to "Reboot into Recovery" and then do everything manually from there, at least to use the External SD Card. And yes, it is a 32GB card, formatted FAT32, so it shouldn't be an issue.

BTW if you go to settings, about, software information and click build version 7 times it will enable developer settings. From there if you enabe Force GPU rendering and set all the animation scales to 0.5x it will speed things up somehwat :)
I'm confused now. I saw some pretty fast benchmarks further into this thread. But you're talking about Asus stock and you're talking about the Crom ROM as the one with the blazing bench's.

So what's the deal here? I don't get it. Is this two separate ROMS? Or are they one and the same?

If they are the same ROM, then I wish I had known that and that was such a performance benefit! I definitely would have tried it!

But if they are different, then do you have a thread dedicated to just that ROM, so I can see what it is?

I'm like you. I'm not much one for "not stock" ROMS and that's why I didn't search for it when I first saw the name. But after reading the latest couple of pages in this thread, it seems like they might be the same ROM (Asus stripped down Factory and CROMi-X) and so like I said, if that's the case, then I'll install it.

Ok so you've finally made it over? :) Let's start again shall we. I don't understand the question. There is CROMi-X. It is not a stripped down Rom. It is an enhanced and optimized Rom rebased from Asus stock. That means is has been deodexed first and then rebuilt with*optimized tuning and performance. On top of that most things are optional so when you install its a bit like build your own Rom..... see?
