• If you are experiencing issues logging in, we moved to a new and more secure software and older account passwords were not able to be migrated. We recommend trying to reset your password, then contacting us if there are issues.
  • Nearly done! Migration cleanup is mostly done. There are a small number of issues left that we continue to work on, but all the heavy lifting is done. We still would love to hear feedback over at this thread and also check out the new XDA app! Thanks and we hope you enjoy the new forums, and thanks for your support of XDA <3

You must do a full wipe in your custom recovery if coming from another ROM. Do not do a full wipe from the bootloader. Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 15 mins to stabilise! The first boot will take 5 to 10 minutes!

Features and Tweaks
  • This ROM is based from OMNI AOSP sources
  • Based off omni-5.1.1-20150902_zombi_tf701t-KANG source by lj50036/hardslog/sbdags
  • Currently only works on the WiFi Shield version
  • Omni Kernel by lj50036
  • Misc Apps: ESFile Explorer, Adobe Flash, AdAway
  • Tweaks: File system and performance optimised, Init.d support, Zip Align, Force GPU Rendering, Browser2RAM
  • Continued Best Support of any ROM!

  • [*]Tip 1: Go to Settings - About Tablet, Click build number 7 times
Now you will see Developer Settings & Performance menus

[*]Tip 2: In Developer Settings - Set Animation and Transitions to 0.25 or 0 for extra free speed!

[*]Tip 3: In Performance Settings - Set CPU max and min speed and I/O scheduler to noop

    Bug List
  • No Floating windows yet
  • WiFi doesn't auto start after a reboot - just select connect again manually for now until fixed

If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).

You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.

If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.

How to get a logcat

How to get useful logs

He asked for feedback, I provided some. More than you've managed to do with your 2 quality posts in this thread.
You should do some reading before you post...

I am not a user, I am a team member that helped give you this rom, thx for making it better .... :good:

Dont even own the device and this is how the community treats people that would like to help out....

This is good info to have.....

Thx Josh

Pretty sure I don't care who you are. ;)

Treats the people...? I replied to you the way you did to me. Reap what you sow. Get what you give. Etc.

Hmm maybe you are right.

Does anyone have any feedback? Usually we get 2000+ downloads per release of zombi. Tough crowd. :cyclops:
You'll never see 2000+ downloads for the shield tablet. I was expecting to see more dev traffic over here considering the quality, open source, and unlocked bootloader availability, but nope. Maybe once we get the nvidia apps working on non stock ROMs, more people will start flashing custom ROMs. I'm pretty sure Aaron is close to cracking that nut though.

Wow. You are probably the most privileged SOB I've seen on xda before. Without @lj50036 and the countless hours he spent on a device he doesn't own, this would never be a possibility. This is a development thread. Not a service that we provide to you. If you can't spend 2 minutes to read the thread and learn how to give proper feedback and help out, then go buy an iPad and get out of here. We don't need cheeky ****s like you and neither does the xda community.

because insulting the single user who has actually stepped up and reported an issue is definitely the best way to gain more users, amirite guys? /s

and what exactly has he done wrong? he has given very simple and clear instructions on how to reproduce the issue, and given that he's back on stock, how exactly is he supposed to provide logs? not to mention that in this specific case logs are 100% unnecessary, playing videos is a basic feature that people expect to work, no need to blame the user for your lack of testing

oh, and what exactly is he supposed to read? the OP says absolutely nothing about reporting bugs/issues

There was nothing clear about his instructions to reproduce the issue. Just saying something like "doesn't work" is not a clear instruction. Also we don't care about collecting users. That is not the point and spirit of xda. It's about making devices better. I don't take too kindly to people insulting @lj50036 and he was one of them acting like he was above everything. There are different ways of playing videos in a browser so it's not that easy to reproduce this issue that you claim was never tested. Plus we release the rom because we only have one shield and it is impossible to test every single last thing.

By the way logs are always 100% necessary even for basic things not working. It helps us to pinpoint the issue in much less time.
@sbdags perhaps your second or third post needs to teach ppl how to take logs like the rest of the threads Mmmmmm? My apologies as I thought they were there already.
