Infinite boot animation?

After a flash last night of this ROM which didn't hang in Aroma, I rebooted, but the device stayed in boot-animation mode infinitely ... or at least for around 8-9 hours (over-night while I slept).

Here's what I did. What might be wrong with any of this?

1. Advanced Wipe in TWRP 2.8.6.3: wipe cache, dalvik, data, and system.

2. Flash this ROM.

3. In Aroma, select standard options, Nova Launcher, and no gapps except for Google Maps. No experimental tweaks are selected, either.

4. Reboot.

5. Sit in infinite boot-animation mode.

Any ideas as to how to get past the boot animation?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I'm using bootloader WW_epad-11.4.1.30-20150121

.

I redid this two more times, and sadly, I got the same results. I waited 12-15 minutes in bootanimation-mode each time before I gave up.

Is there some kind of special configuration for TWRP that I might need, perhaps? As I mentioned, I'm using the recent 2.8.6.3 version ... and I'm utilizing all of its defaults.

Also, I have installed the ROM via Adb Sideload, which has worked fine for other ROMs.

Given that Aroma functioned without any issues, I assume that Sideload is working in this case, also.

Need a logcat of the boot to say.

Possible that is a weird combo - try it with more gapps and experimental tweaks for me please.

Thank you. Forgive me, but I forgot how to get a logcat of the boot session in the case where the bootanimation hangs.

I'll try with experimental tweaks, and then with more gapps if that doesn't work.

I'll report my findings.

I did pretty much the same as before, except I installed the experimental tweaks. This time it worked!

The only other thing different from before is that I also installed the browser that was specified in the Aroma dialog. The first time, I didn't choose to install it.

I'm guessing that the experimental tweaks are what was needed.

I chose the minimal gapps option this time, also.

Anyway, all's well that ends well.

Well that indicates there is a combo that doesn't work and I need to know why. It's more likely to be the missing browser tbh but let me investigate if no exp tweaks are chosen what that might miss.

To get a logcat whilst boot looping type:

Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt

Thank you.

I forgot that adb can work during the boot animation.

I'm surprised that a missing browser would affect the boot sequence, but I guess that anything is possible.

I got this ROM up and running and configured. It's working well. Good job!

I know this is a beta. Just wondering if any of the following features are planned for upcoming releases ...

1. Selecting status-bar tiles?

2. Reconfiguring and remapping navigation bar buttons?

3. Remapping lockscreen bottom-corner icons?

The other thing I found was that keyboard SD doesn't read. Other than that this is to quality stuff!
Mine does. Must be fat32 or ntfs.
Could some one give the output of this command ....

Make sure the dock sd card is in and mounted .....

run .....

Code:
adb shell

mount
Give me the whole output of the mount command .....

Thx Josh

Forgive me but although I know how to flash, wipe, and all the good stuff, I've never been good with adb and commands of the sort. I just know that my keyboard dock doesn't recognize the SD card reader slot. I haven't tried the USB port yet.

It does seem to be a bit hit-or-miss, but the second time I inserted it this evening it mounted and I'm able to read files with ES.

Edit, an hour later: I seem to be able to view photos from the dock SD card, but not copy files from it to the internal SD. Maybe can only copy 4-5 MB? ES reports that it starts to copy, then stalls. Play more tomorrow...

Been playing around with the TF701 tab and I have some real wierdness going on. It seems I have lost the ability to edit files. E.G. I am having some problems with the book font size using Aldiko book reader. The prefs are accessible through the interface or you can go in and edit the XML file. I tried both and both methods crashed the respective apps (ES File Explorer editor, Turboeditor and Aldiko). It seems niether can get root or something. I am able to do this easily on my TF700 with no problems.
Also, I went into SuperSU in the settings and I checked the logs. Got some really wierd log entries. See pic.

I think I will blow this away and reformat and reinstall the ROM. Maybe it was something I did. See if I can get it to repeat ......

Anybody want anything before I blow this away?

Cheers

The card not reading is probably just the bloody dock.
It has been happening to me for a while on 7.0 and 7.0.3. That's not too bad but not having access to the USB port is a problem.

I can't say I agree it's "just the dock" as my dock worked just fine before I installed this rom. The dock SD not working is not a deal breaker for me at this point as the advantages (speed, Modern Combat 5 and KOTOR being recognized, etc) far beat the negatives.

Forgot to add that I don't have a dock.

Well it's a very good beta so...when the only real complaint is dock issues, you should take that as a round of applause for making a great first release! Stable, fluid, works well. Only issue is with dock and if you don't have one then you have no issues period. :)
