Lol, i dont know what happened, i installed twice the ROM with wipe everything etc but my data and apps weren't erased! So it went straight from 4.4.4 to LP! With all my apps and data on and it works PERFECTLY! Wtf? I mean, close to 800 apps are there... Great work.

The key to the dock SD card problems seems to be to use a better SD card. I kept getting mixed results, so I stuck with fooling around with one generic card--and got the same reproduceable results every time, I could copy or open files under 2 or 3 MB, nothing larger. Now, I'm a cheap SOB so I had to hunt around for a good brand-name card, finally found a Samsung microSD with adapter, an EVO class 10. Absolutely no problems opening or copying files up to 600 MB; I am thinking there is no limit but the size of the card. My conclusion is that we need to quit it with the cheapskate stuff and get some decent SD cards instead of complaining to our devs about their excellent ROM.

I have a class 10 64gb sd card sandisk and a samsung adapter. no problem with that. i never use cheap parts.
also keep your assumptions for yourself
in other news, i have formatted the dock card to fat32,ntfs,exfat and flashed each time the rom with different kernel and no result! never had problem with the dock card before. will try other 5.1 roms to see if i reproduce the problem

I've had issues with a number of SD cards with the beta. All fine now thankfully.
What worked for me was wiping/formatting in TWRP, then once booted to ROM erasing the data again. I then copied data from my backup (on another SD) to the newly formatted SD using the TF701 and all fine from there on in :)

I THINK you mean the microSD in the tablet itself. We have been having problems getting the full-size SD card reader in the keyboard dock to work correctly. Or am I simply misunderstanding you?

I did yeah - sorry only half read your post
That said I had problems with my SD in both the Tablet & Dock - formatting/wiping them both and copying from backup on my Win laptop to one of the SDs and then from SD in Dock to SD in Tablet has me all happy.

It's great to see a new ROM around :)

It has been working quite good on my end - running beta 3. I admit it feels a little sluggish sometimes (for example when accessing the recent apps menu and then choosing another app) but overall it feels very nice and I have not had any other kind of problem

Cheers and thanks for your efforts!

Yes, filesystem corruption is a major deal-breaker here. I did my testing on the generic card with fresh formats, using gparted. I believe that cheap cards are more susceptible to corruption also.

A bit more info: a Kingston class 6 card works fine in my dock. I don't recall what class the generic one is supposed to be, and it is completely unmarked.

As an aside, does anyone know of a way to disable the touchpad on the dock? I've been accused of being all thumbs, but it makes it very difficult to type.

Push the disable keypad button? ;)

So?
My question is?
Brands aside for a moment. If the same SD card works fine in the tablet but not in the dock how can it be the card?
Reformatting seems to help but only works short term.

I can only guess that the dock's firmware expects a very fast response, and shuts down the read process if it does not get it. Maybe it insists on USB3 speeds? Basically IDK, I'm reporting raw data. It would be nice if my experimentation (or playing around if you prefer) was repeated by several others, on other 701s. What I saw was that, using the generic cards, the read process would start then abort after ~2MB. Seemed to vary between cards. That would cause ES File Explorer to freeze also. For my purposes the solution is clear: make sure my cameras all have good fast cards in them, as that is what I use the card reader for. I suspect I'm not alone there, but again IDK.

I found a pretty huge problem. Bluetooty head sets will not allow sound and tablet resets when some apps crash. This is a deal breaker.

Ok. I cracked and installed Zombi.
Apart from initial problem installing from Playstore (error 920), no problems so far.
On first boot recognised card in dock, but after that it went bye-yes. oh well . . .
You mentioned setting CPU min/max to noop, but I dont have that setting. I opted for Asus kernel tweaked by sdbags?

PPS Well well well. ES file explorer can see dock card as USB device. Can read items from it but does not appear to have write access because can't delete anything from it?
