I've done everything you said but I have the same promblem: The phone can't recognize the SIM and when I shut it down the phone automatically restart :(
Also when I've tried to flash the .zip that you've linked, at the end of the flashing process there is line that said: "Reboot the phone now", but the phone doesn't reboot by itself and once I reboot it manually nothing changes :(
Can you help? I really want to use los on this device!
Ok man just use official twrp from TeamWin this link
twrp-3.2.3-0-a5y17lte.img

Or you can flash this twrp-3.2.3-0-a5y17lte.img.tar in Odin.

Hi, everyone. ughh...this post might get lost in the discussion...
Anyway here's the news:

Looks like the last official 14.1 build will be final. There will be no new builds, updates or support for LineageOS 14.1 version.
The latest builds are 20190127 for a7 and 20190217 for a5. I reuploaded them here one last time because lineage isn't willing to keep hosting old builds on their server, just in case someone still needs them in the future.

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=290939

PS: You'll need old Nougat bootloader and modem as a base

Thanks for this, brother.

So...in all honestly is development coming to a close on these devices (A520/A720)? Or do we have more to come do you think?

I think we just need to known our options.

I've now found a new favourite ROM other than RR and would be Happy to keep running with these until I renew my contract in November when I'll be getting a new device

I'm not saying anything just for a5 or a7....lineage 14.1 support is dropped for every device out there. :)

That question is not something we know for certain. New developers or roms can always appear, of course. For me personally, I like my A7 and feel it's still suitable for my daily driver, don't see any reason to upgrade yet.

Thanks for confirming. I wasn't sure if it was just 14.1 to be ditched.

Looks like 15.1 has been forgotten and 16.1 is now the aim to get official?

Do you think that will happen? Has RaymanFX moved on?

Yeah well 16.0 was a successor to 15.1 in a way. When you have 15.1 already working making 16.0 isn't very hard.

I can't say anything about him for certain really, only he can speak of himself. But we are now lacking developers and my free time to get 16.0 official. That 16.0 unofficial thread is the best I could, for now.

Thank you for setting our minds at rest. You've done an amazing job, brother and will continue to do so. You're contributions are huge in terms if driving the development forward on this device.

I doubt we would have so many flavours of custom ROMs had it not been for your commitment.

Thank you for taking the time to talk to us all about the current state of works.

just a question in regards to the official version 14.1 which is 20190217, security patches 01/2019. will there be an update, especially for the latest security cvs? thank you.

No more updates for 14.1 now (all devices)

Move to 16 after you've updated bootloader and modem (guides on XDA for this)

Lineage 14.1 (oreo bootloader)

Hi everyone. I know that a few posts above I told you that the 14.1 build I re-uploaded would be the last. And that's kind of the truth.
But there's one thing I forgot to do. Hence, I would've done it even earlier but sorry, we all have real life...
Anyway as you know newer oreo firmware don't allow us to downgrade to nougat. And our 14.1 needed nougat bootloader to work.
This was the most stable lineage version so far, it's a shame for it to go to waste.

So here are basically the builds I posted above but patched to work for oreo firmware bootloader and modem most of us use.

download: get.mcfy.fr | androidfilehost
sources: https://github.com/cm14-7880/

At least if someone still wants to make use of it. I hope it helped.:good:

Hello,
can you tell us what is the difference between the nougat and oreo version.
Looking a little I saw that "qca_cld_wlan.ko" was different as well as the sources of the kernel.
The main difference is it in the kernel?
Thank you for your work.

Hi,
I don't remember every single bit. You can already look for all the differences on the source link I posted. But basically I backported the oreo firmware kernel, yes.

Yes it works.
I just flash this rom with BL_A520FXXU4CRF1 and CP_A520FXXU4CREH.
I see that in the deposit the sources of the kernel are A520FXXU7CRID.
This is great news for those who have an oreo bootloader and want to load LineageOS 14.1
Thank you

Hello, I compiled a version with the source of the deposit cm14-7880.
My phone starts without a display, all is black.
I'm sure it starts because I hear the beep for entering the password.
If I replace boot.img with the one you provided everything works.
Is the lineage-a5y17lte_defconfig file from the repository correct?
Which track to follow?
Thank you

Yep the sources I released are correct. You are most likely doing something wrong.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Bugs/Issues :
    • GPS takes ~30secs to lock
    • Torch cannot be activated from quick settings
    • External SDCard not showing up in gallery, etc
    • Fingerprint
    • LTE is spotty - only 2G/3G seem to be stable
    • Screen recording is broken (csc errors)
    • Camera saves picture in wrong orientation (workaround: lower quality to 11,9MP 16:9 in camera settings)
    • ...more?

    Instructions :
    • Download the latest build and gapps
    • Reboot to recovery
    • Flash the latest build and gapps
    • Reboot

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

The releases are based on Samsung Nougat kernel sources. If you are facing issues regarding the radio stack, you need to flash official N to get the new baseband. The M baseband might work, but it unsupported!

I can not agree, unfortunately. Just take a look at here:
    https://blog.telefonica.de/2018/02/...altet-volte-und-vowifi-fuer-alle-kunden-frei/

They are already rolling it out and the finish will be the end of March.
    Cheers

    ... I still don't care?
It hasn't been enabled here yet, and there are more important things I need to focus on.
If you want VoLTE/VoWiFi, you'll have to do it yourself, review.lineageos.org is open for your contributions.

For those who are feeling adventurous, here's a first build of Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1):
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=251962.
DO NOT USE OPENGAPPS, but instead use the Gapps that are inside that folder.
Bluetooth is broken, NFC might require a restart to work - other than that it's okay-ish for a first preview build.

If you want to support me and/or the project, I'm looking for a used Galaxy S8 to buy from donations, so, you know what to do if you want to help that cause :)

Today might be the day you have waited for!

This is the first build with open source (reversed) RIL I hacked and fixed today finally.
Lots of effort went into this one, I hate playing the cat and mouse game, especially in the radio subsystem, which is the one I'm the least familiar with.

Enjoy and report back please. Cycling between 2G, 3G, 4G should also work fine now.

I guess I can give you some info about the progress on 15.1. :D

Firstly read this post. What has happened since then?
Well, a few things. Now I'm going on holiday so I am releasing all this. This is where we at now:
It is still 95% work by raymanfx although I am releasing it. I maybe added some additional stuff to his work.

    * Bluetooth is now working -> RaymanFX was working on this and in the end he was finally able to fix it. edit: Well at least it turns on on boot now.
    * Always On Display -> Google added support for this on AOSP Oreo and I was able to enable it on lineage. Try it guys. Hopefully it works as intended and doesn't drain the battery too much.
    * A7 and A5 unification attempt -> Well firstly I need to say thanks to Skorupsi for testing out my stuff. I experimentally added A7 support. I own an A7 and I can verify that it boots and it appears to be working fine. But maybe some calibration stuff - screen, camera, battery is still set to A5. So it's still experimental and I don't guarantee anything. Flashing this is your responsibility. This only applies to A7 users, if you own an A5 you can ignore this statement. It is exactly the same as it was before for A5.
    * Fixed screen off while in calls. Yeah you probably saw this in 14.1 as well.
    * Perhaps I messed up media codecs. I see 1080p youtube videos somehow lagging.
    * Is NFC working? edit: I see some crashes in the logcat - probably not.
    * Upstream updates from lineage
    * You should use N bootloader and modem for your device

Lastly thanks to xda moderators for acting. Yeah developers have their jobs/schools/families and can't focus on this all the time. Please don't get rude. No ETA/volte.

    Have fun :)

So, as some of you might know, I was donated a SM-A520F (A5 2017) to work on it, these are the early results.

What needs to be done still:
    * Reverse engineer the amplifier code for the OSS audio HAL
    * Fix fingerprint (looks like a mobicore issue?)
