Okay, i will explain, please follow carefuly because sometime during initial setup you will get black screen. i will explain really spoon feeding..
IMPORTANT: BACKUP EFS - DOWNLOAD GOOGLEWEBVIEW
1. Your current phone must on Oreo (8.0) not on OneUi (9).
2. Flash vendor + flash rom then flash rmm-bypass (for more safe).
3. Flash with Magisk 18.0 only (to avoid you get black screen during initial setup). You can update later after rom fully initialized.
4. Boot, wait..average is 10 minutes if patched with magisk 18.0 but it is really safe to avoid black screen.
5. When wi-fi detecting, don't connect to wi-fi. TURN OFF wi-fi and press SKIP. Skip all login (google - samsung)
6. Continue as usual, wait rom after FULLY initialized: playstore library update, android update etc. etc (don't do anything). U can restart by the way...
(during this stage, sometime SystemUI or other app get force close, just press wait and simply ignore it)
7. After fully initialized, install googlewebview > reboot. then you can login to anything you want.
i gez shouldn't be no more question again....

what kind of problem in edge panel and aod? those two r fine for me,, could you more specific explanations? what i know is this rom has two major flaws..auto brightness and auto rotate.
i rebase to latest security patch of A9 2018 and auto brightness and rotate has been fixed.

Does auto brightenss and rotate now work with the rom?

30 seconds at first boot (right after flashing)? no.. atleast i haven't experience it in my whole life. maybe you talking normal boot...

i downloaded your source but always give me errors..
i saw on your build only knox related and dm-verity removed/not set, but there is another security on pie. search "proca" on all defconfigs and if you able to compile and disable those all, maybe we can have working pie custom rom.

i saw you ported A9 2018 firmware to A6+ ... i was wondering if you can help me with rooting my new SM-A920F in order to remove some bloatware.
So far i managed to root with magisk and remove the vault keeper files from lib folder ...i manage to remove more than 120 apk bloatware , my lock screen , samsung account and fingerprint are working very well .. but after reboot magisk is still installed but i can not use anymore the root ..
Any help is much appreciated !!!

1. root is working very well if i use

modify the build prop for vaultkeeper from 1 to 0

2. all the apk are working , root is working , magisk modules are working , fingerprint are working ,
3. after all this , despite the fact that the pie firmware looks nice and have few new options , i prefer to stay on oreo so i reinstall the oreo firmware back A920FXXU1ARL3 with the root and all apk working very well
4 . i hope someone will manage to do something about this new feature vaultkeeper which is blocking the firmware to make any modifications

As i said before :AFTER A LONG AND VERY DIFFICULT WAY OF MAKING THE PIE WORKING WITH ROOT ....i went back to oreo

I wanted to share this experience with you , because i know you are trying to make it work for A6+ on pie ...i still have this phone also (A6+ single sim) , but i will stay on oreo firmware because it is more stable

thank you..surely i will try this out. yea, im still struggling with fingerprint and authentication errors (red text of death error was not problem anymore ).
i already trace and make deletion script also but i don't know if it will work. will try first with yours...
base on your script, seems proca still active, we'll see when applied.
my "suspect" that on the list related to proca and defex:

* make sure you untick autoreboot
* after flashing enter in recovery and factory delete data and cache
* reboot , make the initial setup , enable OEM and usb debugging
* install magisk 7.3.2 apk and patch the boot.img which you extracted before from AP from pie firmware
* after this step i make a moded AP tar only with :
boot.patched.img
recovery.img
system.img
vendor.img ....without the rest of :
meta-data, dqmdbg.img.ext4.lz4 , persist.img.ext4.lz4 ,userdata.img.ext4.lz4
* now i flashed with odin the files like :
BL from oreo
AP the modded one from pie already patched with magisk as i told you before
CP from oreo or pie ... as you wish
CSC HOME from oreo
MAKE SURE YOU UNTICK AUTOREBOOT IN ODIN
* after the pass message , enter in recovery mode and factory delete data and cache
* reboot and make the initial setup again checking the OEM unlock and USB debugging mode
* as a precaution put the software download update on off
* after making the setup for aditionall in magisk i installed root explorer 4.5 and i started to delete one by one the following :
= go to /system/vendor and modify the build.prop almost on the last of the page the following :

= all this apk i deleted manualy as far as i do not have TWRP for A920f .... you can decide by yourself what you want to keep or delete
=delete from/data/dalvick cache
= reboot the system
= if everything works great with the fingerprint , lock screen , samsung account ... then i go to recovery and format data in order to boot from zero and making the setup as a new phone , including setup for magisk for the root rights , installing magisk modules and so on ..
this was my work for a brand new phone A920F without a working TWRP but full functional root in order to delete the bloatware.
