Import from SIM or from SD?

Can you try again and capture a logcat while you do it?

Plug the phone to your computer, enable USB debugging, open cmd.exe and run:

adb logcat > logcat.txt

When it hangs wait a while, disconnect the usb, attach the logcat.txt here. Maybe we can see something in it.
