Hello, Aidan do not know if I am in the proper post. But is there how to install Android TV 13 on TV Box H96 MAX X2? can anyone give me an orientation?

I just installed this ROM and it works great, but a program I have doesn’t work properly because the MAC address is being spoofed. Could anyone help me with that? I’ve checked the WiFi and Ethernet settings and also the Developer Options but can’t find anything mentioning MAC addresses.

@johnpeos yes it does, just tried it, works just as well as all the stock Android ROMs I've tried so far.

Sadly, for me that means no surround-sound pass through via HDMI to my receiver, everything is reencoded to stereo PCM.
This is the 4th Android firmware I've tried:
1. was the Stock is was delivered with.

I've tried all the sound settings I could find on each one, none of them even those that had settings that suggested it should work actually output any surround sound, neither directly passing through the DTS and other audio streams, nor as decoded multi-channel PCM. Ever Android ROM I've tried so far only output stereo PCM so far.

But I know the hardware is capable, since I've also tried CoreElec ("CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-20.1-Nexus-Generic.img") and that one finally did output surround sound, both reencoded multi-channel PCM (initially) and after enabling it in the settings directly passed through digital streams. YAYY!

Sadly, CoreElec not beeing based on Android means none of the nice streaming apps that I would like to use, only non functioning super complicated Youtube Kodi plugins with manually creating API keys and stuff like that. yuck.

Does anybody have a hint how to get working surround sound with an Android ROM on this device?

Becasue dual boot is still not available on current ([v9] Aidan's ROM [S905X] [ATV 9] (Universal RTL & BCM)) rom I am interested is it no longer planned?

This is indeed what I'm struggling on since months... I believed it was me, all the options set correctly but the 5.1 output result somehow blended among the channels, even if the receiver clearly recognizes a dolby digital or DTS sound stream.

Also, I cannot find a reason why all the roms are 32 bit even if the cpu is obviously compatible with 64bit code. I would like to prepare and compile a completely custom rom to personally face it

I only use KODI and smartyoutbue apps. I couldn't be happier. The only problem is that the LAN network will often disconnect. Reboot will resolve it.

I've got the rom working on an H96 Max X3 (S905X3) but Magisk won't patch the image, it says the boot image was patched by "unsupported programs".

Is there any way around this? Maybe an unpatched boot image that I can use?

This page seems to imply that the image is already rooted but I'm not sure about that.

The box doesn't have a ram disk so Magisk won't work. For Magisk to work, you need a box supporting Android 11.
