Hi there. I see that this ROM is mainly for the Chinese version but is there a ROM yet or will there be one soon that both works well AND 100% removes all Chinese apps and fingerprints from the firmware on up? Or that asking for too much.

What's wrong with the global L29 model? I don't have chinese stuff on it.

Personally I think people wanted the AL00 to resemble the L29. Which is what this is accomplishing.

Really? How do you know it will never get a ROM? There are many people who would want to make 100% sure that Huawei is not secretly spying on them or saving all their personal accounts and passwords to Huawei servers. Making a privacy centric ROM for the L29 version could accomplish that.

Have you read the OP?

I have been watching network traffic on my L29 since day one, and I have removed all things I felt suspicious. I suggest you do the same.

Unless the same guys in the OP make one, aka myself included, it won't get one.

If you're asking what TWRP is and need a video guide, I don't think this is for you.
You're going to end up with a brick.

Not as daunting as it seems. Just READ, READ, READ. And ask questions. Nuff helpful people on here. I have the Chinese Version. And removed what I needed via ADB. I like EMUI and Themes and Phone Dialer. So no desire to Root. Good Luck.

Its just the apps? Whats the disadvantage with the emui? Isnt the global version also having emui?

It's crazy. It was $20 + $2 to expedite with Valet Sentero and it hit within two hours within the bill or receipt. I think now that people want them it's supply & demand though timing shouldn't be this long.

I definitely did a format... I had to type "yes" to perform the format. Is there a way to remove magazine unlock without formatting and installing the rom again?

Sorry for the way delayed reaction. There is a setting to turn off magazine unlock. I hate it. Having the setting is better than some other H phones that you couldn't get rid off. Avoiding any theme with it is important too.

I tried to update to the 195 using steps in post #3 and when it's updating within stock erecovery (step 5) it fails at 83%. Any ideas how to get past that? Do I need to do a complete phone wipe (including internal storage)?

Don't know... what's erec? It's available when I open EMUI Software update app. Odd thing is my phone now shows I'm on 195 after the failed update via stock erecovery and that the same 195 update is still available.

Could you get a logcat and check for an update? adb shell logcat > logs.txt

After checking for an update you can cancel the logcat with control+c. I'm trying to get the url of the update package

• Entered the command you provided in adb which created the logs.txt file
• Checked for update via Software update app
• ctrl+c to stop log to file

One more log if you would: get logs when going into the 3 dot menu from software update then settings, then download full update package, then press the download button to have it start a download?

You can cancel the download after getting logs

It failed the download almost immediately (I tried to download twice), I believe due to having Magisk installed to erecovery. Again LMK if I need to do it with the stock erecovery installed.
