I've seen this asked a couple times and don't think it'll happen. The written instructions are done very well.
To do this all that is needed is root, correct? What is the unlock code people are mentioning for?
Are there any disadvantages to doing this? (Other then having to hide root from Google pay)
I'm assuming the only way to get an update is if a new ROM is created?

Both unlocked bootloader and root is needed for this. The unlock code is to unlock the bootloader. You can't gain root without having the bootloader unlocked.
I regret not buying a bootloader unlock when I had the chance. Im not paying another $125 for one. That is just insane pricing..
Can someone confirm hotspot is working? I enabled it but no one can connect to it. Using 2 sims with the 1 just for data and 1 just for voice.
Hotspot works on my AL00 8g/256g. I'm using 2 sims (ATT and Tmobile in US) and when I'm out with my friends they often get in areas where they have poor mobile network on their phone but usually at least one of mine works so I enable my hotspot for them. Have had no issues with them connecting and am able to switch which sim to use for my mobile network with no problems even when they are connected to my hotspot. I have left the SID as default (HUAWEI Mate 20 X) and created my own password.
Must be Huawei then. I initially used 1122334455 as password and nothing connected. Changed the password to a123456789 and my laptop connected. Will try other devices tomorrow.
"Clear recent apps" is not working.
I have a big problem. "Clear recent apps" is not working. After I clear app in recent app screen, app still working and memory is not cleared.

Make sure com.android.providers.blockednumber isn't removed or you'll have that issue.
Thanks for your reply. I checked but it is not removed. My phone is EVR-TL00.

Thanks for all you have done for us. Anyway, the reason I don't like google dialer for video calls is you can't make those video calls over mobile data

Google Pay was working with in-store payments on my Visa card, now it detects my phone being root even though I have Google Pay and Google Services Framework hidden with Magisk Hide. Any idea how to get it working again? Have latest Magisk (v18.1 (18100)) and Magisk Manager (7.0.0 (185)) installed.
