Instruction Suggestion

"At this point, EMUI Flasher will copy the update_full_base.zip to /data and automatically reboot the phone to nocheck recovery. You will need to pay attention. The flashing process will take less than 3 minutes and when it is done, you will need to boot into fastboot with the phone connected to a PC and the volume DOWN button held."

As a suggestion; maybe it would be better for it to emphasize when to boot into fastboot. Something like:

I mention this because I went into fastboot and continued before the flasher had a chance to update and screwed everything up (and I noticed several other did as well).

Now everything is working except I cannot get Magisk to boot - stuck on "device is booting now" Tried 10+ times. :/
Without Magisk the phone boots fine (but no root of course).

My point of failure as well. That's why I' got a strange hybrid last time. And the first flash with this rom had ended up the same. After I saw the build no. 200 again it dawned on me that the rom is half baked and the flashing procedure was newer completed. I flashed it from the beginning again and succeed.

It is a great rom and I want to express my gratitude to freeza for all his effort and creativity.

Try opening Magisk Manager and install Magisk... use Patch Boot Image File for the method and use the stock recovery image as the .img file to patch (instructions to get stock partition image from stock EMUI firmware is here https://openkirin.net/user_guide/how-to-extract-partition-images-from-stock-emui-firmware/). Then flash the patched img to recovery partition via TWRP. I'm still on 9.0 200 with RR rom, so I haven't done this but I have updated to Magisk 19 by patching the recovery img this way.

yes,you can change as you want.
But swipe up to home/recent tasks animation is not as smooth as the stock one.
tested on GlobAL00ized 2.0
Or maybe you can froze the stock launcher then it wont have the swipe up function and its recent tasks interface(back to the AOSP one).
you can do this even on official ROM,just make sure you got another Launcher to use

Can you post a screenshot from Settings - Default App - Launcher ?

like freeza said,erecovery can always restore your device to official latest EMUI.
This is very important to people who often mess their phone up,like me.
or if your device is rooted,you can flash the official rom with EMUI Flasher I guess

I just installed this and now it shows Unknown for both IMEI and MEID and phone doesn't recognize either of my sim cards. I do have a full TWRP backup from when I was on 9.0 200 EMUI. How can I get this fixed?

I do have AL00, I did restore all partitions from my TWRP backup (it was with RR installed) and it gets past the RR boot animation and shuts off right away and botloops. Flashing stock 9.0.0.200 from stock eRecovery, factory resetting it, installing GlobAL00ized 1.6, reinstall RR rom, making sure it boots and SIMs work, finally restoring just Data and System via TWRP.

Not sure what went wrong in the first place.

UPDATE: Everything back (and working) how I had it be for I started installing this 9.1 119 EMUI, running RR rom on 9.0 200 EMUI.

stock eRecovery will detect that you have a modified device then from there you can do OTA update.

FB and other apps - I can't remove them by swiping left or right. I need to tap and actually open them to remove them from notofication panel.

Messages - I used to get a preview and abke to mark them read or delete within that banner. Now I can't do that... Is this a EMUI 9.1 thing? I already played with notification but nothing changes.

EDIT: Saw MKBHD's review of P30PRO he found the same issue with notifications.

I don't have issues at all with notifications. I can swipe them away and reply to texts, telegram, Hangouts all through the reply function. Seems to me like you have AppLock on those. If so, it won't allow you to reply or open them without your fingerprint or code.
