Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your enter/Exit Safestrap instructions correctly but it reads like we have to flash a file in odin everytime we'd like to boot to recovery to use safestrap?

Thank you for your further development of the LOCKED! SG930A variant. I just came back to android after doing a nickel with the iphone. It was like prison.
Yes you must flash files with computer to enter and exit safestrap.

So does this mean we have root for oreo? Eng_booloader ?
Xposed?
Anyone trying magisk ?

There is no root. No magisk. You can use xposed. Stuff is in post 2

I'm still downloading the files but the way you have your BL labeled it seems you have or are using the previous eng boot ,that we need for root , I know that oreo isn't capable of using a system root ,that is what I'm trying to understand ,so I can attempt some ways of gaining root, safe strap is making it some what possible of seeing further development on rom side of the s7 ,or even perhaps a multiboot to add other roms

I am using the eng bootloaders and boot and recovery from Marshmallow just to enter safestrap because it requires a permissive kernel for hijacking ro work. The recovery is unsecure adb so it allows root privileges through adb in stock recovery so this is how I'm able to push files to system like safestrap and the blank cache.img which allows dmverity to be tricked. It's a process that has taken me a very long time to perfect. Those of you than ran earlier stuff remember how complicated it was. If and when a eng boot.img fir oreo pops up I will have a root method for it

Any way to set the se to permissive through adb to perhaps mount the system as r/w and allow su support

---------- Post added at 05:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 AM ----------

I'm thinking we may not see an eng boot , but we do have allow OEM unlock , so we may have a level of some su support ,I'm hoping someone finds the bug that allowed many oreo updates to unlock the bootloader on other phones like lg, moto, even pixel and other devices that weren't possible unless through manufacture

Look at the sprint s7 , there updating the bootloader just because carriers want there networks locked to there networks , and sprint is still on n, Verizon surprisingly hasn't followed , but samsung is just as similar as apple with the iPhone and it's been getting locked down , it's already been three OS from android , and we still haven't had an unlocked bootloader , with oreo this device is pretty much a straight up samsung only phone not any true android OS,supposedly there is a rea km way to unlock the bootloader but from samsung , like I said hopefully some finds what allowed other phones to make oreo to allow bootloader unlocks by a bug so u do suggest not update for a while after oreo update

This is for AT&T only. As other carrier files become available I will post stuff for them
You Do Not Need To Be Rooted To Install This Rom
You Must Be On Stock CRE4 AT&T Oreo Firmware Before Starting
This Takes Some Patience To Install

What Is Safestrap

Safestrap is a Bootstrap / Recovery for locked bootloader phones. Safestrap is now based on TWRP Recovery (a touch based recovery) and you can perform .zip installs, backups and restores here.

Can this be flashed with a cre4 stock after wipe in recovery or do u need Odin to flash to stock to make it work I'm already on the update u provide in other thread

You just need to be on cre4 it doesnt matter how you got there. You will lose your data and all contents on internal storage

Device status custom after flashing busybox in safestrap
Thats because you modded the binary files. You know there is no root for this phone so busybox is basically worthless since the kernel is enforcing and not permissive. In the old days before marshmallow you could run busybox commands on non rooted phones but those days are pretty much gone

I will flash the cleaner in a little bit. My sim card is currently in my g920i so I'm just flashing whatever for "reseach purposes" lol
The permissive marshmallow recovery + plus flashsystem.cmd is beyond cool. Basically decide what you want to add to customize your rom. I flashed grxtouchwizmod with it which worked better than flashing the zip in safestrap actually lol. Many possibilities even s9 port. I remember using this method installing your nougat s8 port easy root i think... i didn't understand then what exactly it was. I was just following your installation guide lol
Safestrap is by no means redundant though because it flashes zips without verification(dual speaker mod is life) as well as back up and restore rom. I'm glad i have a micro sd card adapter for my laptop just in case i forget something i don't have to flash back into the system lol.

Not sure how you were able to make everything work and seeing the process of how things are flashed ,but what type of recovery for mm did you use. When loadinging it has a debug info on it ,never seen that on there and somehow you were able to get the bootloader / download mode to display more info as well , it is a good job though , also when using safesteap to flash must have zip files on ext sdcard,as the data will not mount, just select storage location to choose a sdcard, but looking at it , all we need is to be able to mount the system and we could possibly see roms flashed on this device as long as someone can make a rom based on the kernel or boot img that we are stuck on ,we just wont have su support

If your data won't mount in safestrap it's because during install you didnt wipe data. Data must be wipe in stock recovery to remove stock file encryption as it dont work with safestrap
