Contacts issues

Hello everyone,

I am in a predicament. The stock contact app kept on checking for my AT&T contact information whenever I tried to use it and since I don't have AT&T account, I found that to be very annoying so I deleted it with titanium backup thinking I could simply install a 3rd party contact app to replace it. But with the 3rd party app installed, whenever I tried to edit or add contact I get error messages, regardless of the 3rd party contact apps used. The error message for adding contacts is "You need at least one account syncing contacts" but I have my gmail account sync. And the error message for editing contact is simple "Error". My question is do need to flash the whole ROM in order to have this thing resolved or is there an apk or zip file that I can flash to get it going? I really do not want to flash the entire ROM again just to be able to add contacts, though.

Please advice.

Thanks

You can try to extract the apk from the ROM zip and then boot into safestrap and click on "mount" then select system.
Back out and then choose "advanced" then "file manager" and move the apk to /system/app.
once that's done while still in file manager select "up one level" at the top of the file manager screen (scroll up if you don't see it) and navigate to /system/app and find the apk you moved. Then long press it and choose "chmod" and then using the keyboard type in 0644 and swipe to chmod it. Then reboot the ROM. To not use it and avoid errors turn off WiFi and open the contacts app. There will be an option to cancel. After that it will never pop up again WiFi or not and you can use Google to sync.

Other than that, yes you will have to ref lash, but make sure to back everything up. Its easy to do with this ROM.

Use es file explorer to open the zip file of this ROM then extract the one you deleted and throw it in system/app using root explorer. Change permissions to rw-r-r then reboot. Changing permissions is done by pressing and holding on that apk you'd just moved and checking the whole first row and the first box of the second row and non of the last row.
Edit: the app you're looking for is called seccontacts.apk

Sorry Ryan. I didn't see your reply until I had already posted mine. Guess we both posted at the same time. :)

That looks very nice. Is the background going to be included, too? LOL
It can be if requested

has any one had issues with ringtones being obnoxiously loud and sounding distorted (yes i checked the sound quality)
YES, i have to say the ONLY flaw i can see in this Rom is when my phone rings every ring tone sounds saturated with sound, instead of the usual crisp notes that i got from other roms, including stock. I assumed it was a Volume mod included in the rom. But its not just loudness the saturation is there even when the phone is on low.

No biggie, but its there.

If you are comfortable with editing XML files, you can actually edit the features XML found in the CSC folder. Look for this entry

<CscFeature_Contact_EnableAAB>true</CscFeature_Contact_EnableAAB>

and change the value to false. Save. And then reboot your phone and you should never see it again.

I will work on fixing this for you guys. Im sure there is a thread around here with flashable audio volume mod files though.

Thank you Nun. I forgot about that, mostly because I thought I already made that feature edit. I guess not. But thank you again.

There is a very good flashable zip of a sound mod in the x-note thread. I always use it.
