Hello Friends

i have att note 3 running kitkat. i came across the alliance rom and i am dying to flash my att note3. however i am stuck at my first step. i am not able to root my phone. it seems there is no method to root att note 3 on kitkat. can you please help me 2 find another way to root my phone.

Unfortunately, there is no current root exploit for your version of android on this device. Your best bet is to try to sell it and buy a 4.3 version MI9, MJ5, or NB4 version.

But just to let you know every time I flash a rom I ALWAYS reinstall ALL apps from the app store...

In fact the only time I have ever restored anything on my phone was when I restored my stock ROM a couple of days ago and I didn't feel comfortable do that!

I've been working with PCs since the 80s and have come to mistrust ANY backup/restore software.

I think I am going to do the whole thing from scratch starting with a new MJ5 install...

If, after doing all the religious steps, I still get reboots, then I have a box to ship you my phone LOL and really LOL

I wiped my PC and did a fresh install od Windows 7 (didn't really need 8) so I created a new cloud account...

Don't mention it, that's what us senior members do LOL

I guess with age I have become a senior member (my wife says that I have always been a member???)

OK, discovered a problem today, and I can't find anyone else talking about it. I'm getting duplicate text messages from everyone. I get two identical texts from everyone who texts me, and this will show up in both stock messaging and Google Hangouts. Whaddup wit dat?

How many messaging apps do you have in your phone besides stock? Or have enabled sms in hangouts?

Interesting that you have a newer kernel date, but same version. And an older build than my phone. I'll investigate further.

Does it matter that I use TiBu to uninstall any thing with a facebook icon?

No. In fact I use TiBu for all my backup and restore. But only from fresh data from this ROM. And I also remove a bunch of junk.

Yeah, I thought that stuff was junk.

I only use TiBu for getting rid or freezing stuff...

I back up data manualy to my PC

Just stock and Hangouts, like always. SMS enabled in Hangouts, notifications off in stock. Never had a problem before like this. Thought it might just have been a tower issue, but when I got home from work I had my son send me a text; same problem.

Hmmm. I used to get the same thing when I had 8 sms and stock messaging app (even with turning off notification in messaging app). Try freezing the messaging app in TBU and see the issue persists.

I am not using Alliance ROM at this time.

I am currently running the stock, rooted ROM from the "Restore for MJ5" process

Yup. I did. I just had to test it in slot and of cuz expecting reboot and all the issues other had mentioned. lol Worth to try.

No its not included. But yes you can do that. Copy it into system app and set permissions 0644 or rw-r-r and reboot
