I have a quick question:
How do we update the ROM?
An "update available" appears in the settings menu, but wheh I hit install, it looks like its going to install but it doesnt and a "reboot" option appears but when I press reboot, the phone just restarts and the update is not installed.
Any ideas how I get update this RoM?

Hello and Happy New Year to all of you.
This is the second OTA update I do and nothing wrong with this. It applies the update after reboot and also TWRP is not modified.
After installing this rom and GAPPS pico 11 arm64 and starting the phone for the first time, an OPEN GAPPS error init phone appears, do you know if it is important and if it can be solved in some way? I have cleared the cache and format factory, but it did not work.

If ota engine doesn' t work for you, check your rom' s installation.
Ota should work fine.
But you can also manually update your rom.
Download the newer build where is comfortable for you, e. g. in internal storage.
Boot to twrp, hit install in main twrp' s menu, choose internal storage ( or where you placed newer build before ) and swipe to flash the zip.
After that, return to main twrp' s menu, hit wipe, advanced wipe and wipe cache.
Reboot from twrp to twrp.
Last step, reboot to system.
Voilà, you will be good to go with your updated rom.

Normally the OTA updates should be working. Maybe try flashing manually the latest version of the rom, than one has it working.
Could you be more spcific, maybe some screenshots
Always get the rom from the first post, if I post some links in other messages, it is only for testing.
I do not have an image because it is when the phone starts for the first time, an error appears that says something like: Google keep stopping, although it seems that everything works fine after starting the phone, all services and playstore work correctly. It is only an error when starting the phone for the first time, after installing GAPPS PICO and LINEAGEOS 18.1
Maybe next time, first install the rom, boot into it. THen reboot to TWRP, reset and flash gaaps. ALso check the different google apps like google play services, google, google play and make sure that they have all the permissions necessary in the settings. I remember having somrthing similar and that wasthe fix.
I will try it although I do not know if it is worth it since everything works fine, only that Toast message the beginning for the first time appeared and nothing else.
Not really, I most likely won't have the time to built it. But another dev that I know is working on it, when it is finished he will publish it.
Not really, keep looking for new pages on the rom forum. Building a ROM is not like i'll have it working in XX times, it's like it either works or not. Sorry cannot be more specific.
does this instruction work for users who come from another android 11 custom rom? or I should downgrade to 10.0.18.0 stock rom first?

i had quite some problems with installing the rom but i think there were on my side. managed it finally with flashing stock rom from xiaomi with miflash and then flashing lineage afterwards and it worked.
its running stable and smooth. coming from lineage with android 8.1 (yea i know...) i notice differences and miss some things:
-battery consumption is higher. just a thing to accept or is there a possibility to tweak with different kernal etc?
-i miss wakeup display when receiving a notification? is there no implemented solution for it? android 8 had it? i bypassed it with a 3rd party app...
-my notification LED is not working properly. battery notification works fine but with messengers at the beginning i had no led and now its turned on all the time instead of blinking. also with email i get no led notification (k9 mail).
i saw there is lokal settings and app specific settings. but the only effect i get is no led or turned on led but no blinking?
-bluetooth connection is laggy, when watching a video or listening to musik with sound pairing over bluetooth i have leggs and moments where it seems like my internet connection is leggy or the mobile is out of reach for signal but its only 1m to the receiver and the internet connection is good.

3Sorry, I realised that I forgot about the april update, anyhow, I'm working on the May one. Could someone test the May update out? I dont know if it was this Rom Update or Updating opengapps with it what fixed a weird error where I didnt receive push notifications in one banking App I'm using.
One problem I'm having is that YouTube seems to buffer more frequently when listening through bluetooth (mi true wirless earbuds Basic 2) but this problem was present in all releases maybe it's the earbuds themselves dunno. Edit: just did a quick research seems to be a common problem with some devices that WiFi slows down while Bluetooth devices are connected so definetly not rom related issue.
other than that I can confirm rtfmguy's statement and have not encountered any problems so far. thanks for this update -

LineageOS 18.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11/R, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

- Download the latest build from here
- Download LinkBoi00's version of TWRP here
- Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
- Fastboot into TWRP recovery (fastboot boot twrp*.img)
- Do a factory reset in TWRP
- Flash the latest build of Lineage OS
- Boot into your new phone
Most of us will want the basic functionality like Google Play, Maps and others, therefore I recommend downloading Gapps. You choose your own, but I recommend OpenGapps. They are among the few that can survive OTA updates.
If you do this, I recommend booting into the new LineageOS first, then reboot to recovery, do a factory reset and then only flash the gapps. If you don't do this, the gapps won't install properly

If you know what this is, then feel free to install it. This is the same ROM as above, but "debloated" of Google Services that are replaced with open-source alternatives. It mainly works the same, but most daily users will prefer the "normal version". This ROM has its own separate OTA engine, so it should receive updates over it too. You can download it here. The install process is very similar, just don't install Gapps at the end.
