Once you flashed encrypt_data_v1-1-zip then reboot back to the system and after setting it up your phone was already encrypted.
Last month I tried to encrypt the phone in the system it was unsuccessful.
Does the encrypt_data_v1-1-zip need to be flashed after every dirty flash? I wonder if it can be incorporated in to the rom zip to automatically encrypt

Hey @gwolfu ,

I would like to suggest you to consider switch to encryption by default.
Beside the benefits to keep data safe, (just in case you lost the phone for example) I see here and in telegram, there is also some confusion with encryption and OTA - updates etc, people get in trouble. Casual users will be fine with encryption by default and others can always flash DFE (or use custom recovery which auto doing that).
Τhis will untangle things somehow.

EDIT: I saw there is a poll (encryption or decryption by default) in telegram, I guess everything depends on that. :p

There's a discussion on Telegram right now about doing it or not
Vote on poll

Also if anyone is willing to have a test on new encrypt script, pm me on telegram if willing to test (needs clean flash)

Updated perfectly, thanks!

A couple of issues:

1. Nav bar visibility toggle off (in CrDroid settings) doesn't persist after a restart. I have to use a Substratum work-around to permanently hide the nav bar.

2. Edit: removed. Problem not specific to this ROM

This is one of the best custom ROM I have used. Only reason I'm not using this is because it doesn't let us use 20MP front camera of POCO F1, stock camera only shows max resolution of 5MP, common issue across all Android 11 ROMs. Even ANX Camera doesn't fully support Android 11, which used to get the job done with Android 10 ROMs. And GCam mods doesn't really support more than 1080p for front camera.

Is anyone able to make use of 20MP front camera so far with this ROM using any camera app?

How to encrypt in twrp 3.5.2

I have installed the latest crdroid in twrp, flashed crdroid.zip, mounted vendor, flashed encrypt1.1.zip, unmounted vendor, flashed nikgapps, rebooted to system and phone is encrypted.

Question is...

I assume when i dirty flash a update I will have to wipe dalvik and cache, then flash crdroid.zip, mount vendor, flashed encrypt1.1.zip, unmount vendor, flash nikgapps and reboot to system?

I installed the latest CrDroid with stock Nikgapps.
After rebooting it does not boot into rom.....instead boots into recovery.

    Encrypt data
As crDroid doesn't enforce encryption, you'll have to flash a special flashable zip in recovery in order to run encrypted
    Please follow steps below

Warning Warning Warning --- This works only on clean flash
    1. Flash crDroid.zip in recovery
    2. Mount vendor partition in recovery (for some reason is not mounting with newer TWRP)
    3. Flash encrypt zip
    4. Reboot to system

    Note:
The encrypt zip needs to be flashed after every update
So flash crDroid zip and follow with encrypt zip

    Note2:
Recovery that is able to decrypt data is required in order to see data while booted to recovery
    Official TWRP should be alright
