Development [ROM][Android 11][OP9] crDroid v7 [21 DEC 2021]

It looks like the version included with the rom is outdated, I tested with the latest version on a freshly msm'd op9, and it worked as expected, so I may try to update the version included, not sure how it will go though, I have root access so I'll down load the app,
Think I'll have any issues doing that?

i installed twrp using the suggested method by teamwin documented @ https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus9.html

whenever installing TWRP, it removes root if present so in the same instance i installed TWRP, i utilized adb side load and pushed the magisk zip file successfully. i then just rebooted and everything worked flawlessly.

the version that bricked my phone was a unoffical project, not a build made by teamwin. I do see now that https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus9.html is supported and thus, i will try it myself and get back to you.

I tested with that one, it works, for some reason the one that was included in crdroid was outdated and acted strangely, but the official latest one does work as expected.

my fav rom crdroid but for OP9 there is no proper steps to install it. Please advice proper step to install this rom

I installed the second to latest version (doesn't include twrp), then rebooter to recovery and flashed Gapps, so just switch out the crdroid file, and instead of booting to system after flashing, reboot to recovery and flash Gapps core.

Read my WHOLE comment before trying it, and these steps assume you sideloaded the build WITH twrp (latest one)

Ok, if you've sideloaded the latest crdroid, then BEFORE rebooting to recovery, while still in lineage, enable adb (advanced section) and try running "adb push thegapps.zip /sdcard/" (/sdcard/ is the internal storage), after that, reboot to recovery which should put you in to twrp, click the install button and navigate to internal storage/where ever it says sdcard, select Gapps, and flash it, then reboot.

This *should* work.

*These steps are for sideloading the LATEST build.

Ok, so the second to latest build (2022-10-31) doesn't include twrp, (easier to install it, flash Gapps, then update via it's ota),

Imo the best rom atm is evolution x, even though it's build is currently a bit old, android 12 is on the radar and coming soon, and It also has Gapps pre installed, with all the features working,

But, crdroid is a great option too

And hopefully the steps I told you will help.

Inbetween I tried evolution x got frame drops on playing games other than that it was a great rom.

I don't know whether crdroid also having scroll shutter issue and game frame drop issue

I have an issue where BT audio works fine on everything EXCEPT my car, or any car. I think it's something to do with AA but then after I disconnect AA it's very choppy on any vehicle, but works totally fine in my BT earbuds. This has been true on both the previous and Dec builds.

Anyone else have this? If it's working for everyone else just fine I am going to assume it's my system only and maybe do a clean install or something.

Wow, did you approx when next release?

Next release will be shortly after January security patch is available in crdroid upstream for me to build off of. Next install might recommend msm to stock before install to be safe since op9pro updated their init scripts and I copy pasted their change for our device inadvertently changing us to LE2123 (global op9pro device) when we are actually LE2113 (global op9). Last time I changed back to LE211x early on in development, install failed while sideloading thinking we were installing for the wrong device.

It does this on vehicles for me but not on headset.

I would say that this guide is corrupt. I followed it to sideload crdroid, then gapps fails so i have to reboot to system.
If I then reboot to recovery - we have twrp included and sideload doesn´t work from that. So I have to start over with los recovery.
Then I sideload gapps and magisk as the guide say and reboot to system.
But it will not boot. It stops at boot logo.

Two attempts did boot but both non had working touchscreen.

dont install twrp when utilizing ROMs based on lineage with a op9. you "can" as long as it the latest offical release form Teamwin and not a custom build (there were many seeing as the userbae got to a fix before teamwin) but just trust me, there will always be somethinng subpar if there only giving us the 1 release.

So I have to start over with los recovery.

i would strongly suggest you stay on the path that has been clearly defined for you. dont add any varables, especially if you arent fully aware of the changes/issues they can bring.

you can always reinstall twrp once your up and running.


even better: never install twrp, but if you absolutely feel the need to use it, just reboot your phone into fastboot and "fastboot boot twrp.img (NOT FLASH BOOT twrpimg. if you do, just reboot into fastboot and flash the boot.img the same way or allow twrp to boot and flash the img file there. (and select boot/both slots)

download both the zip and img.
img for fastbooting and the zip is for flashing but...you can just install twrp Ia the advanced section, the zip is really specific use case, these days. (but dont)


But yeah, try not to even use twrp, its not perfect even in its current state. they released one passable build for op9 (and thats ok, its not important with all the options at our disposal these day)

The only thing that looks corrupt around here is your ability express humility and ask for help in a polite way. instead of being rude and defensive to the literal ROM maintainer that you're trying to install and utilize, maybe accept the clear PEBCAK errors , be humbled and and appreciate the time people spend to help you without any cost.

I don´t install TWRP, it is included in the rom. So when I reboot to recovery it is already there, that´s my point. I can´t skip it even if I want.

My post wasn´t ment to be rude, it was posted to help others avoid the same issues I have seen. I am very greatful an happy for developing roms so I can let go of OOS.

I am now deciding if I should return this device to the seller or give it one more try.

• We start here with LOS Recovery and cut it down.
• Reboot to recovery with following command fastboot reboot recovery (OK)
• Factory Reset -> Format data/factory reset and confirm format of data (OK)
• Apply update and Apply from ADB (OK)
• sideload latest crDroid package with adb sideload crDroid.zip (OK)
• Now adb sideload latest gapps package with adb sideload gapps.zip (FAIL)
  
  
• (if Gapps fails saying it could not mount system, boot to rom, then back to recovery and try sideloading Gapps again)
  I boot to rom and then back to recovery. Now it´s TWRP recovery since that is included with the rom. ADB sideload does not work here. That leaves me with two options I think.
  1. Move files to internal storage and flash with twrp, but internal storage is not visible.
  2. Reboot to fastboot and flash los recovery again. Sideload gapps + magisk and boot. This works but the touchscreen doesn´t work after boot. I can also see that the fingerprint icon lights up in the upper left corner a short moment.
  
  
• Sideload push will go up to 47% and fail - no worry is normal (That did not fail with option 2)
