Hello Klaus,
well -- can you connect to any unsecured wifi?
I'm currently connecting to a wide range of wifis and they're all working...

Hey,

I was on stock rom till now.
I have unlocked bootloader and installed recovery.

Now I want install this rom should I install it directly or I have to do update to Android 9->10->this rom.

I also have other question, is it necessary to install gappe to use banking apps and does this rom support banking apps out of the box.
Hello Ricky,

1. please do a clean install: format your memory and then run the install. But you don't need to update before doing so.
2. sorry, I don't know "gappe"
3. I use Ing and DKB banking apps without installing anything else.

Hope this helps.

That means I can install it directly on top of my 8.1 stock rom, without doing any extra work I just have to do a clean install.

One more thing you know anything about sandboxed google play services provided in Graphene os, I want that kind of feature.

I am facing infrequent random crash shutdown with ArrowOS 11 on my Moto G5s+. So far I have noticed it is happening when battery is less than 50%. Can any one help me here?

Before installing, did you do a complete wipe? (system, data, dalvik, cache)

If not, or unsure, you'd most certainly have to boot back into recovery and do that before installing the rom. Builds from @kniffte have been solid. Lost track of how long I've been running them lol.

Hello again,

since ArrowOS ceased to provide updates, I've again created my own one, based on the android-security-11.0.0_r63 tag provided by Android Source[1].

Android security 11.0.0 release 63 contains the security patches of January 2023, so I bumped the version string to 2023-01-01. Actually, I want to give credits to ArrowOS here as well, as some of the patches made public by earlier Android release have been incorporated into ArrowOS months ago already.

I've compiled that state locally [2], transferred it to the phone using

adb push Arrow-v11.0-sanders-UNOFFICIAL-OTA-20230101-VANILLA.zip /sdcard

and installed it using TWRP.
Following the restart, I flashed the latest NikGapps-basic-arm64-11-20220908-signed.zip[2] as well.

The last couple times, the phone had trouble upon the first restart, but this time this problem did not occur at all.

Feel free to download and use - but please, no responsibility is assumed.

If you look closely, you'll notice the new webspace, I've created for this, you'll also get a more detailed changelog there[4].

Again, help is very welcomed to migrate sanders to Android-12.1, which I haven't been able to compile yet. Also, this January 2023 image continues to use outdated kernel-3.18, since I haven't been able to update to a more recent 4.x or 5.x version (clang fails on too many warnings). But I've updated the Kernel using some of the updates for January 2023 - the others relied on a way too newer kernel version.

Feedback is wanted as well, since I'm still quite new to this business.

Thanks bro... i just tried your mod... awesome it is! i need just 2 things... i used FX, a full featured root browser to change the bootanimation.zip... fx is so awesome that it automatically sets the same perms as the old bootanimation for the newer one... but..

no dice! the anim never shows. it just keeps my custom boot logo on till full powerup.

How to fix?

and FINALLY...

adb shell

settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "key(82:file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/allison.mack/menu.png),key(278:file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/allison.mack/samsung.png),back;key(3:file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/allison.mack/apple.png);recent,key(279:file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/allison.mack/moto.circle.png),key(120:file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/Data/allison.mack/screenshot.png)"

MY CUSTOM PERMA NAVBAR EDIT IS SADLY NOT WORKING ON ARROWOS... CAN U FIX THIS TOO? I WAS HOPING THAT AOSP ROMS ADDED THIS BACK IN BUT.... NOPE

Hello, I have updated the old G5 my brother supplied to the 2023 version with 2023 NikGapps and it works fine except the radio. I found no application for radio so I will try the zip file provided on a post above since it does not work.
That is what I get:
audio_route: unable to find path 'hph-lowpower-mode'
msm8916_platform:'platform_check_backends_match:Invalid snd_device =
...
audio_hw_utils:send_app_type_cfg_for_device: Couldn't get the backend index for snd device headphones ret=-14

Hello,
that is surprising. On my phone, it had trouble activating the driver altogether. It never came to trying the headphones. OR it was already done with that and failed later. Anyways, right now, I do not know, why it fails. There has been some work been done to the radio in the HW drivers. But reverting them did not improve the situation. I also never used the radio, so I cannot tell, when it ceased to work.
If you want, you can try an earlier version of ArrowOs (e.g. version 10). If it works there, we would have a starting point.

Hello @okayk, @yielo, @Debapratim Nag,

I know, it quite a hack. But when I have this issue, I turn off the phone and let it off for about 30 secs. Turning it on again, the camera is currently unlocked. I've had this about 10 times, each time it worked.
It's definitely not the nicest way to handle it, but it works for me usually.

Does it have phone encryption enabled or could it be enabled after phone setup and not have any problem later?

Hey,
I do have phone encryption enabled. I do not know, if it would work, had I enabled it later. But thats just the way I can handle the issue.

kniffte
Hi,
I'm using my organization apps and phone encryption is required to install the work profile and Stock ROM is outdated for them now.
Could you please also share the screenshot of the same? It'll be very helpful.

Thanks

@bnmOp What exactly do you need? I have the usual phone encryption enabled and installed Microsoft Intune Company Portal. This is working smoothly.

What has been a pain at times, was the Intune Company Portal itself: I logged in, but it took me multiple times, until it really synced the address book etc. - actually, the address book is still not working properly. But I get my company emails, Teams and calendar.

    Hey again,

since ArrowOS ceased to provide updates, I've again created my own one, based on the android-security-11.0.0_r54 tag provided by Android Source[1].

Android security 11.0.0 release 54 contains the security patches of April 2022, so I bumped the version string to 2022-04-05. Actually, I want to give credits to ArrowOS here as well, many of those patches made public by this Android release have been incorporated into ArrowOS months ago already.

I've compiled that state locally [2], transferred it to the phone using

    adb push Arrow-v11.0-sanders-UNOFFICIAL-OTA-20220405-VANILLA.zip /sdcard

    and installed it using TWRP.
Following the restart, I flashed the latest NikGapps-basic-arm64-11-20220421-signed.zip[2] as well.

Once the phone had trouble upon the first restart, but restarting it again, everything worked.

Feel free to download and use - but please, no responsibility is assumed.

I will take care of the May 2022 once they come out (and I have time to do so).
Again, help is very welcomed to migrate sanders to Android-12.1, which I haven't been able to compile yet. Also, this April 2022 image continues to use outdated kernel-3.18, since I haven't been able to update to a more recent 4.x or 5.x version.

Feedback is wanted as well, since this was my first try to update the source.

    Hey,

I checked ArrowOS's Telegram channel, they've ceased supporting ArrowOS-11. It's also unclear, if sanders will received ArrowOS-12.1. The latest ArrowOS-11 commit is from 2022-02-18 and includes the 2022-02-05 security updates.

I've compiled that state locally [1], transferred it to the phone using

    adb push Arrow-v11.0-sanders-UNOFFICIAL-OTA-20220218-VANILLA.zip /sdcard

    and installed it using TWRP.
Following the restart, I flashed the latest NikGapps-basic-arm64-11-20220222-signed.zip[2] as well.

Phone had trouble upon the first restart, but restarting it again, everything worked.

Feel free to download and use - but please, no responsibility is assumed.

I'm thinking about setting up my very own ArrowOS-11 based resources, so I can keep using this phone. I will also try compiling ArrowOS-12.1 using Android-11 device drivers/kernel/vendor sources.
Any help is appreciated - just write me.
