I don't think that this is exactly OSS vendor bug, because I'm using now Nitrogen OS, which is based on the same vendor, and NFC is working here

Nitrogen OS uses both FW and Vendor from MIUI 12.0.7 (A11), while CrDroid uses the same FW as NOS and the Vendor is replaced by OSS. BTW. You can compare Vanilla size of both OS...

Google pay works fine on crDroid 7.4 and stock vendor/firmware. No Magisk or root required.

The built in updater doesn't work. I'm decrypted. It will boot to recovery and do nothing. I didn't encounter such problem when I'm encrypted.

Tried dirty flash from 7.5 and it failed to load, had to format data for it to run, no such issues on my previous Mi 8. Anyway thanks for the update.
