What gapps are recommended?
Very good rom but in this latest compilation lag is sometimes noticeable when entering the app drawer.

2 days ago I installed a clean version of 8.4 (crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220408-surya-v8.4.zip), so far I have the following problems:
weak maximum brightness
battery life is shorter than before

when installing I wanted to use
FlameGApps-12.0-basic-arm64-20220120-Release-Preview.zip
FlameGApps-12.0-full-arm64-20220326.zip
but neither could be installed (the error was written that it requires Andoid 12.0 but I have 12),
NikGapps-basic-arm64-12-20220222-signed.zip
works...

before that I was using lineage-17.1

Hi, I'm trying to install crdroid 8.4 on my poco x3 nfc surya. I do these steps:

Boot into TWRP twrp-3.6.1_11-0-surya-brigudav
Flash fw_surya_miui_SURYAGlobal_V12.5.5.0.RJGMIXM_450cc10088_11.0
Flash rom crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220408-surya-v8.4
Flash Gapps FlameGApps-12.1-basic-arm64-20220307-neobuddy89
Flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_20210320
Format data typing "yes" in twrp
Reboot

These steps leads me to a bootloop, i've been waiting for 20 minutes.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT
Finally fixed doing this, (if anyone needs it):

If you have any issues flashing, like persistent GApps or booting issues, try to cleanup the phone with the following procedure:
Download a full MIUI rom recovery package from XiaomiFirmwareUpdater
... (make sure you download the full rom package for RECOVERY, it is about 2.4Gb!) ...
From recovery, flash the zip file. This will cleanup all the partitions.
Now flash again this ROM.

Thanks for the tip. I've always flashed Magisk after the Gapps for years with my Essential PH-1 and that never failed me. I've done the same with My older Nexus phones with SuperSU.

I'll give it a try next again when I get the chance. For now flashing Magisk after Gapps worked with LOS too.

My common sense dictated that I follow instructions provided by the developers. lol.
Check my message above, it solved the same case

I updated the gapps link in OP, older gapps weren't working with 8.4 anymore

this says 2.7GB. https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/surya/stable/V12.5.5.0.RJGMIXM/. is this (global) what you used?

edit: did you (have to) 'format data' during the process of successful installation of the rom? did you resort to backup and restore of your data? if so, what process did you adopt?

.... tried 3.6.1-11-0 and disabled any screen locks but it cant decrypt phone
it has been pointed out many times that currently there is no recovery for A12.x that decrypts data. you need to format data and flash 'dfe' file before booting the first time, if you wanna stay 'not encrypted'.

That is not right. It has pointed out many times that there are recoverys that can decrypt data if there is no screen lock or password of any kind. Simply i can not find one, so i asked. I dont want to use dfe.

Problem:
How is it that, after the installation of crDroid 8.4 (crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220408-surya-v8.4) the recovery partition (twrp-3.5.0-0-surya-mahajant99) is replaced by the one installed at surya_eea_global_images_V12.5.5.0.RJGEUXM_20220209.0000.00_11.0_eea_ae54f90489.tgz?

If, after CrDroid 8.4 works well, through Fasboot that twrp-3.5.0-0-surya-mahajant99 install I am back to square one, that is, in a boat loop of twrp-3.5.0-0-surya-mahajant99.

What did I do wrong?

I´m also on crDroid 8.4 but on twrp 3.6.1 and don´t have this problem.
