The device has A/B (Seamless) System google it if you want to know more.

you can flash a or both at ones

Code:
fastboot set_active a
now flash boot,dtpo,vendor ... get on a
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
or just boot it one time with
Code:
fastboot boot ****.img
work only on Slot a

or both a and b
Code:
fastboot flash boot_ab boot.img

Code:
fastboot flash boot_ab boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo_ab dtbo.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot_ab vendor_boot.img
fastboot reboot recovery

if you do the first install clear device data (all private data) before fastboot reboot ...
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase metadata

I tried all these things just now and basically after the fastboot reboot command, the phone restarts, the Mi logo flashes momentarily, and it ends up back in fastboot mode. Didn't work either by setting the slot to a or using the _ab suffix.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get into recovery. I tried restarting the phone with the power button + volume up, it reboots, the mi logo flashes, and it goes right back into fastboot.

Then I redownloaded the three files and ran the commands listed above. They executed successfully and flashed to both partition a and b. But after running fastboot reboot recovery the Mi logo flashes and the phone ends up back in fastboot without going into recovery.

I'm assuming that I can't sideload the rom or firmware until the phone has successfully booted into recovery, and I authorize the sideload on the phone end (at least that was the way it used to work with TWRP?) so I'm a bit stuck.

I installed the rom and it's working fine, but doesn't pass the safetynet test. (CTS profile match). What could be causing this and what can be done about it? Thanks!

Were you running Miui 13 or 12.5 when you installed it? What happened when you ran the fastboot reboot recovery command? You may have to go to the Pixel Experience ROM to get a safetynet compatible Custom ROM, I know one of the users on that thread has posted a picture of their device with safetynet active. I'm looking for a more vanilla build.

I'm not sure, because some time ago I installed Evolution X. But that doesn't seem to get updates anymore, so I installed PixelOS (which passes safetynet). But since we have other phone on Lineage, I wanted to try that... Maybe all those roms got everything mixed up....?

I think this is bricked..I disconnected it from the computer and held down the power button to try and turn it off. It turned off momentarily and then booted back into fastboot mode after momentarily flashing the Mi logo.

I ran the commands fastboot boot with boot.img from here and with the Orangefox recovery and both commands failed.

Any recommendations on where to go from here? It would be nice to at least (1) get a functioning Miui OS back on there and (2) not re lock the bootloader while doing it. Preferrably with Miui 12.5

https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.14.0.RKOMIXM/lisa_global_images_V12.5.14.0.RKOMIXM_20211228.0000.00_11.0_global_2a7d365c98.tgz

extract it on Windows best install 7ip program 7-zip.org

in that folder a 3 bat files dont touch anything with lock in the name or your device is realy bricked

use flah all . bat

if this fail again use a ather USB cable

The link is broken. I tried downloading the 13.0.6 global ROM from Miuifirmware and the flash_all.bat file failed to recover the phone after several "device mismatch" and "antirollback" errors.

I've been using the OEM Xiaomi cable, so that's not an issue. The phone sees the computer, the computer sees the phone (even in this state). I can still run fastboot flash commands from the command line. I think there's some sort of incompatibility with the boot.img files. Theoretically even now fastboot boot boot.img should boot the phone to recovery? But neither the boot.img file for here nor Orangefox will get the phone into recovery mode.

It would be interesting to know for those of you who have had success with it, what specific model of the device you have, which android version, and which Miui version you had on the device before flashing it succesfully.

Followed your instructions to the letter, also installed magisk and its modules to use NFC, everything seems to be working well so far, 60 hours uptime by now.
Cheers!

Which version of the phone do you have, which version of android was installed when you tried this, and which version of Miui?

i a not normal shold around 0.01s

ther is samting wrong please try a anther USB port or cabel

My computer is a 2 in 1 running Windows 10. It only has one USB-A port. I've tried it both with the port without anything attached, also with a USB 2.0 hub attached, in the event that it's a USB 3.0 compatibility issue. There are no other ports to try. The cable is the stock OEM USB cable that came with the phone from Xiaomi.

fastboot flash boot.img successfully flashes to partition a, b, or both but the phone won't boot into recovery after the flash.

fastboot boot boot.img doesn't work and gives an error.

Did the results of the getvar show anything abnormal?

Oh, you are also trying to flash back to MIUI too so you can flash other stuff cleanly. You have the same problem I have. If you look in the "getvar" cmd you did, anti is set to 1. That means you have some lv of anti-rollback on your phone. All the MIUI roms are anti rollback 0.

Read this for more info about anti-roll back: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/

TL;DR if your anti > the MIUI rom you are trying to flash. It will prevent it from flashing or you will hard brick your device.

Booting with orangefox has not worked for me once. I usually get a blank black screen or the Mi Logo.

@Old_Mil You can try PixelOS recovery. That is what works for me. Idk if there is a way to get around the anti-rollback unless there is an MIUI on lv 1 somewhere.

Thanks for that heads up, so it looks like going backwards to a Miui ROM is probably more hazardous than it's worth at this point. Worst case scenario I do end up bricking the phone (if I haven't already) and have to send it to someone with an EDL to fix.

The article mentions something about having to flash a dummy image to pass something to antirollback before TWRP can be successfully run. I wonder if this is why I can't successfully boot into recovery?

No idea, all I know is this is a bigger PITA than any of the other phones I've ever flashed, and the first one that I may have bricked.

Can I flash Lineage directly or do I need to flash the Miui global rom anyway?
I also just used the OTA Updates and it did work.

I think the important thing is to have the correct Android version :)

Also, I don't see usage of boot.img in the installation guide.

Edit: I'll just wait for LineageOS 20 since I use camera often.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12.1 (S), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

I have a Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE (256gb DG - Global Version). I bootloader unlocked it after a week's usage. It is visible to ADB and Fastboot on Windows 10.

Ran into a bit of a problem following the flashing guide.

    Downloaded the following files:

From the link. Successfully flashed boot.img, vendor.boot.img, and dtbo.img. It automatically selected _b as a destination on the phone. Attempting a reboot with power + volume up never got me to a recovery screen, only had the Mi logo flash before re-entering fastboot.

I re-read the instructions and there's a place where it is a little unclear as to if recovery.img is to be used for all phones or not despite only being in the ys1 repository. So I downloaded that and flashed it (successfully), it auto selected _a as a destination.

Phone still continues to reboot to fastboot, but now without the Mi logo flashing (guessing I blew away whatever was left of the factory ROM on _a with that last move).

Suggestions on what to do next? I'm stuck at a place where the phone is in fastboot mode and connected to a Windows machine with adb and the proper drivers but I'm guessing has no bootable recovery or ROM so sideloading isn't an option.
