I had same boot issue with 09/12 recovery... I left the 09/02 recovery in place after running firmware update and it's fine now.Err I'm trying to update with a clean install on c63, I was running this already with some of the bugs mentioned already on previous versions.
Point is I had an issue with the latest boot-20220912.img recovery. I wasnt able to access recovery and was bootlooping basically, but testing the boot-20220909.img worked and I'm now in recovery.
Before I lose motivation or forget I wanted to let you know at least, this time, that something is up there... I flashed c63 firmware using your tool on both slots, tried flashing the recovery to both slots, and switching slots had same bootlooping so basically latest recovery not booting for me in general.
Now I can breathe, I was ready to flash to stock
Make sure both slots are on C63 Firmware and go to the Telegram chat link where you can get more help faster. I'm on break at work so can't help after this post. Link to Telegram is in first post of this thread. If anyone has sucessfully installed crDroid v8.9 on a Oneplus 9 5G - Global (Model# LE2115), would you please post your step by step procedure.
I have a Oneplus 9 5G - Global (Model# LE2115). I have been trying for 3 days to install crDroid v8.9 [12.09.2022]. It fails with Qualcomm: Crashdump Mode & bricks my phone everytime.
I have bricked my phone over a dozen times following the procedures on the OP. It just does not work.
I have tried the scenarios listed below so far.
1 - Started from stock Android 11 OOS. Installed the OOS 12 firmware (OOS C.62) via flash tool per OP instructions. This generates Qualcomm: Crashdump Mode & bricks my phone.
2 - Used MSM Tool to unbrick the phone & flash back to Android 11. Used Oneplus OTA to upgrade to OOS 12 C63. Since the OTA upgrade me to Android 12 firmware C63 now. I skipped Updating to OOS C.62 or via flash tool. Flashed dtbo.img, vendor_boot.img & boot.ing. This also generates Qualcomm: Crashdump Mode & bricks my phone.
3 - Finnaly decided to try another ROM. I followed instructions of Pixel Extended ROM v4. OP. Flashed dtbo.img, vendor_boot.img & boot.ing. This also generates Qualcomm: Crashdump Mode & bricks my phone.
Any help appreciated on how to get a Android 12 ROM installed. If not, I will just stick to the OnePlus 9 5G Phone Stock OS.
you have to dirty flash (sideload) rom again, reboot to recovery and sideload gapps againCan I use the flash tool to update firmware to C63 and not update the rom immediately? Like, can I then just boot back to my existing cr-droid installed rom?

I also had this issue. Thanks for the post. Dunno if I would've figured it out otherwise.Err I'm trying to update with a clean install on c63, I was running this already with some of the bugs mentioned already on previous versions.

Because of all the trouble you had (which I've gone thru myself too) I have another OP9 coming so I can test other roms and builds out without screwing up my daily driver CRDroid... lol! Are you on the 9/16 build? It's the one that finally fixed my issues and haven't had any problems yet... yet (crossed fingers)Lorilucille9.
Thank you for replying. I finally succeeded in getting crDroid v8.9 installed on my OneNote 9 5G (Model# LE2115).
For some reason the Update-firmware.bat file just did not work for me. It just bricked my phone each time.
I got cdDroid to install by manually running each command in the Update-firmware.bat one by one from the command line on my Windows 11 computer.
This worked for me after 3 days of failure, bricked phones & MSMTool unbrick back to Android 11 C.48.
My brand new $298 OneNote 9 5G Global is a FREAKIN' BEAST PHONE!!! Just look at my Antutu score.
Thank you so much for your reply. It encouraged me to keep trying until I figured it all out. Goodbye & good ridance to OnePlus Oxyegen OS 12L (OOS C.63!!!). I am now running crDroid OS 12.1 now baby!!!

Yes I installed the crDroid 9/16 build (crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220912-lemonade-v8.9.zip).Because of all the trouble you had (which I've gone thru myself too) I have another OP9 coming so I can test other roms and builds out without screwing up my daily driver CRDroid... lol! That's not the 9/16 build that's the 9/12 buildYes I installed the crDroid 9/16 build (crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220912-lemonade-v8.9.zip).
Runs really fast with no issues for me thus far.
My bad. You are correct. It was the 9/12 build I installed.
Use swift backup it backs up all your apps setting and everything and does all the work for you just make sure when you back up your apps select all the optionsMy bad. You are correct. It was the 9/12 build I installed.
I just tried a DIRTY adb sideload load flash of the 9/16 build (crDroidAndroid-12.1-20220916-lemonade-v8.9.zip). The dirty flash installed fine. However, my OP9-5G could not boot. It stuck on the boot screen animation.
Therefore, I tried a CLEAN adb sideload flash of the 9/16 build. I formated the data partition again (Factory reset) which means I lost all of my data. I now have a new 9/16 build on my phone but must go through configuring the phone again. I also have to restore all my apps & data again from my backup.
It will take a few hours to re-configure the android OS settings, re-install 121 apps & restore data for 121 apps.
I sure wished I could take a TWRP backup image of my OP9-5G with crDroid v8.9 installed & all my apps & data. It would save hours of re-work. TWRP 3.6.2 does not work on OP9-5G with Android 12 installed. It works fine on OP9-5G with Android 11.
It is 12:23 am Monday, September 19 here. I will let you know if I encounter any other issues tomorrow.
Thanks again for your work. I do not really mind helping out on crDroid. It is a great Android OS.
yes it's implementedDoing first time setup from a clean flash. Just curious about the crDroid restore screen that pops up after the Google restore. It says "If you have a backup from your last crDroid phone, you can restore it here." Then you can pick a location. Is this actually implemented? I never knew of an option to create crDroid backup.
Should have just flashed gapps again via sideloadMy bad. You are correct. It was the 9/12 build I installed.
