You can also try this great site, it's a great resource for returning to OOS as well as unbricking (which in the end is the same end result - back on OOS).

Just installed 8/2 update via OTA. Maybe im not seeing correctly but Contacts and Messaging app look the same as before, phone app has Material You theme.
I installed the update on Aug 2, no issues. Last night on Aug 3, I went to sleep at 11:30pm and around 12:02am Aug 4, it just drained the battery and was dead by 8am. AccuBattery and System battery stopped recording battery level at midnight (69% at the time and I don't charge overnight). What could have happened?
It wasn't plugged in. Maybe it crashed to dumpmode and the screen was on until it died? Are there any log files I can look at?
what is the order of installation?
rom-> NikGapps-> setup wizard

Please fix this. It is quite annoying.
Also, Home gesture is quite buggy. Probably even more so on Nova launcher.
Anyone else experiencing reduced Volume on crDroid? My phone was quite loud even at 50% volume when I was on OOS 11. Now even at 75% sound is quite less.
Yah its always been like that. You need to use Wavelet or JamesDSP to add an EQ and boost the gain.

Flashing Instructions:
Pre-installation:
- At this time, OOS 11 firmware is mandatory (OOS 12 firmware will result in boot issues)
- Download recovery (from download page, recovery button)
- Optional NikGapps core (download - note that you may also need setup wizard addon if you rely on Google restore)
- Optional Magisk (boot.img used to patch with Magisk in order to get root, can be found in recovery folder from download page)
- Backup your data to PC, OTG flash drive
- Enter fastboot
- Flash our boot.img in fastboot

fastboot flash boot boot.img - Boot to recovery (can do from bootloader or with buttons from power off state)
- Now in recovery go to factory reset and confirm the reset
- Reboot to recovery
- Choose apply update and Apply from ADB
- Now install crDroid zip via sideload

adb sideload crDroid.zip - Go back to main menu and reboot to recovery to install gapps (if you don't want gapps, reboot to system)
- To install gapps, simply sideload gapps.zip the same way you installed crDroid.zip then reboot to system
Via recovery:
- Boot to recovery
- Choose apply update and Apply from ADB
- Now install crDroid zip via sideload and reboot

- Go to Settings -> System -> Updater and download latest build
- Choose install and let it finish
- If you have Magisk installed, don't click reboot when prompted and go to Magisk and choose install to inactive slot
- Reboot
