You need a compatible recovery.

Boot to recovery, mount as a USB. Connect to your computer.

Or

Use a OTG connector, plug a thumbdrive. Mount thumbdrive and copy over.

I am using the recovery that was on the install page for my phone (poco x3 nfx), and it was able to decrypt the data, at least while i was using a pattern to lock the phone, haven't tried unlocking since i've switched to a pin. But it's unable to decrypt data now that i've flashed the newest rom

Bootloop after installing OTA from 9.1 to 9.2, error failed to mount /data
I think I was decrypted (since I updated 9.0 to 9.1 from OTA), but not sure.
Dirty flashing back to 9.1 still bootloops, also can't mount /data

I might have confused crDroidAndroid-13.0-20230111-surya-v9.1.zip (january 11) with crDroidAndroid-13.0-20230211-surya-v9.1.zip (feb 11)

EDIT 2 :
Everything works except scrolling and touch feels weird after a reboot, setting peak and minimum refresh rate to 60hz and then back to 120hz fixes it consistently.

OTA breaked the system, it seems it installed everything normal, but somehow corrupted or encrypted /data had to clean flash everything.

Just updated from 9.1 to 9.2 manually (not using OTA function). No Problems at all, except i had to reinstall Magisk afterwards.

I can confirm that manual flash via recovery works without any problems. In my case Magisk reflash wasnt neccessary. And works immediately. just dont forget to flash force decrypt if you are not encrypted.

Use Mixplorer instead of esExplorer

Mixplorer works great but, after perfect years, on A13 has a problem: when u click on an APK, it shows a popup asking with which app it has to open the APK extension file. U can flag "remember" and then click on "packages installer" but the next time it will not remember and will show the popup again...

PS Checked on Spark OS ( I'm using it in this moment ) / DerpFest OS / Cheerish OS --- all of them Android 13 based.

Not only for Mixplorer, but if you install es file explorer or other installation program/apps there will be pop up asking what kind of program you will install the apk file. If you klik remember, the pop up willnot show up anymore (I did not ever klik remember ).

It's been a while, since I returned to Surya,
so I just went from AICP [Android 11] to crDroid v9.2 [Android 13].

I updated the Xiaomi firmware first, from A11 -> A13

and then updated TWRP [twrp-3.7.0_12-3-surya-28.01 ],
rebooted to recovery, format data,
flashed crDroid, NikGapps, Magisk and then DFE.

then rebooted to the system,
but i'm waiting for about 10+ minutes now,
as the crDroid logo (the eye) keeps changing colour
and nothing is happening.

is the 1st-time boot supposed to take this long, eg. 10 - 15 minutes (or more?) ?

Maybe you should try MindTheGapps, which is recommended, instead of NikGApps. And, DFE is not really required as TWRP of 28 Jan is reported to decrypt data with Android 12 as well as Android 13.

MindTheGapps seemed to be much larger in size (230MB) and older (from 2022),
whereas NikGApps was smaller (80MB) and more recent (2023-02).

That's why I chose NikGApps,
as I didn't want extra 'bloat'.

I re-flashed crDroid v9.2 and without DFE, and with an older Magisk.
You know what...? It now boots into crDroid.

I'm stupid and made a mistake before.
I flashed NikGApps v12
(and not for Android 13, which is crDroid v9.2)

Once you get that pop-up saying app is restricted . just go to Settings >Apps then open desired app setting, and in toop right corner would be 3dot menu , open it and click revole restrictions.

Got the same problem and the same solution. I think that is android 13 security feature.

first i want to thanks to devs for this ROM, i was using RR or Havoc, but for this device they are no new updates , i tried this one and im very satisfied , but i`ve run into few small problems i cannot solve.

1st small bug is when i use loudspeaker in calls from time to time i cant hear ringing but once call is answered i can hear all .
