@GtrCraft I love the new update with Miui Camera and all the optimizations, I just have a request, can you please replace the MIUI camera with Leica Camera in your next update of this ROM? I think Leica Camera is a much refined version of MIUI stock camera app and a majority likes it over the stock app.

I was using it before the latest update but since you've added MIUI camera in the latest update, It doesn't work anymore, whenever I install the magisk module of it, my app drawer starts appearing a Fisheye titled camera app that doesn't open.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this please.

make sure u are indeed using latest versions of everything:
xiaomi rom: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/surya/

also do not install Magisk initially. do it after u have set up your phone.

so imho:
1. xiami flash tool and flash the latest version for your REGION, let phone boot, check for any updates, install if available.
2. adb sideload twrp
3. install only rom + gapps (wipe and format data after installation)
4. boot, set up phone restore backup etc.
5. install magisk.

All done but same result with Mindgapps, no wifi, no way to access to google play (loop).....

With nikgapss same flow (first miui 14 with xiaomi utlity, phone set up, adb for twrp ) ok wifi but always the problem with google accout setup........
Now I'm tryng another rom.....

You can copy the Miuicamera.apk from the unzipped Magisk-Module to /system/priv-app/MiuuCamera. This works fine
Before this delete Data of Miuicamera.
After replacing you have to reboot your phone

Only thing i can think of is the miui version u are flashing, try for latest miui 13 instead of 14 (it might have compatibility issues).

I do have a question though, this will only replace the app with the Leica version but what about all the libraries that are in the module zip file? Will not including those affect the picture processing somehow?

please let us know how this go, if u had any issues with removing and installing other version, apps not behaving etc etc.

I ended up doing it on two devices, so I can report on not only Surya, but on my Mi 9T Pro, too.

Both were running crDroid with NikGApps Omni. It was taking a ridiculous amount of time in OrangeFox to backup and restore all of its components whenever I flash a crDroid update, so I wanted to switch to NikGApps Core.

It worked as expected. I renamed the Omni ZIP to UnInstall.zip and flashed it. I then flashed the Core ZIP and rebooted. I noticed that some of the AOSP components were missing (perhaps the calculator or calendar, etc), which would have been because Omni had removed them and replaced them with Google apps, so I returned to recovery and flashed crDroid. This resolved it.

I did notice on both phones that after one of the initial restarts, two of the navigation keys were missing and the quick settings wouldn't display. This was resolved with a restart. I was convinced I'd be looking at having to wipe, but it was just a glitch and everything is working perfectly.

Trick after format data from TWRP.

I've never use e-walllet, but nfc is working. If it is rooted, used another app like shamiko (magisk modul) to hide root.

I've set up a clean install of crdroid, with no gapps and have flashed magisk with it. I've experienced an issue where even though I've given permission for location access, no app can seem to get the location. Not Osmand, not the browser, nothing other than apparently the camera app because it is the only app listed under recent location access list.

Do you pass all the microG self-tests? Did you enable the location modules?

Hello, Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I tried to install the Magisk module as you suggested, but rooting causes some other problems (some applications detect it even if my setting pass the Safetynet or rootbeer test). So I wanted to come back to a solution to install MicroG without rooting as it was before the last crdroid upgrade (altough with some quirks : the selftest passed and some applications worked fine and other did not detect de Google Play service).

This installer installs MicroG components. The "full" version contains the real Google Play Store app, but it crashed on my system. The "OSS version contains only open source components and it works fine (after allowing signature spoofing to Fakestore). Now all my installed apps work, except one banking app which detect that the app is not installed with Google Play Store (if anyone has an idea to circumvent this... )
