THANK YOU for this ROM :D. I'm testing it in it's RR20161215 version and it is stable and almost without bugs. There is something that I cannot make it work however.

When I keep pressed the hw Home button, instead of the "search on screen" (or "now on tap") feature, that is enable, it goes to the Google now app. I tried to enable the software navigation bar (build.prop's qemu.hw.mainkeys property), and if I keep pressed the software navigation Home, it shows correctly the "search on screen". I think it is a remapping problem, but configuration (L342 of config.xml on github repo RR-7.1 branch - I cannot post external links) for me is correct. Do you have any suggestion on how can I fix this (without keeping enabled the sw bar)?

I tried to modify /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl, setting the key that was signed as HOME to HOME VIRTUAL, but nothing changed.

Also, patched with version 20161223, does not work.

Found the solution!

The configuration to be checked is inside Resurrection Remix configuration utility:

Settings -> Configuration (Resurrection Remix) -> Buttons (the Italian translation is a little misleading tough) tab (7th tab) -> Hardware keys -> Home Button

On action on long press, select personalized action, there should appear Google Now on Tap. So it is not a bug. The same configuration must be set also in Android settings (Voice and assistant), selecting Google as default assistant.

Thanks to @Vatsal and @AndropaX in helping me solving this little problem!

Is this rom stable for daily usage?
I've used this version (RR-N-v5.8.0-20161223-libra-official) in the last week and I never had issues, apart from google now on tap, that had to be configured properly (my bad... not of the rom). Actually after three days I started to get better battery performance with respect to MIUI Beta, and now my battery lasts more or less 2 h more :D.

I have the opposite, I can't even get 4h SoT
For me it was the same. At least for now. Maybe later with all the xposed battery saving modules it will be better. But for now, it's a no go. That's why I came back to CM13.1 TS where I can get 8h SoT easy, with heavy usage. Thanks @AndropaX for giving that chance to try Android N. I hope, things will get better when MIUI will release their builds based on 7.1.

I've installed yesterday the new version appeared on RR download site (31122016), and it has some new issues. Sometimes, while locked with screen off, the smartphone freezes, and need to be rebooted. GPS loses fix from times to times.

1. gps cant get any satelites. only from mobile data or wifi.
2. some weird noise when playing audio. from speaker or headset. from any app. it sounds like when you have a loose earphone cable and trying to tighten it. (i dont know what to call it). it most likely happen when im opening, closing, changing apps. ex: when im opening chrome the sound will appear, or when changing from spotify to home screen. also the music become laggy abit.
anyone have this problem?
please help me
my install: RR 20170107, pico gapps, dolby atmos+deep buffer remover, google assistant.

Music playback with screen off

Hi, I've been using this ROM for a few days now and I'm very happy with its overall stability and features so far.

One major issue I've encountered regularly however is related to audio playback. I notice that when I play music via the included music player and the screen turns off, sometimes the music playback will stutter very badly or pause completely.

But when I turn the screen on, even if I leave the phone at the lock screen, the music playback has no problems. I will try another music player to see if the problem remains but I wanted to bring this up first to see if anyone else has this issue and/or has a fix for it.

My installation: build 20161105, OpenGapps ARM64 7.1 Pico build 20170105.

Me too.
My installation: build 20161013, OpenGapps ARM64 7.0 Pico.
I think that this issue is related with the background process.
