Hi WJYYBSH,

all issues seems to be fixed now.
I set the following settings to init.qcom.post_boot.sh:

# Configure governor settings for little cluster
echo 302400 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
echo 1440000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

# Configure governor settings for big cluster
echo 302400 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
echo 1824000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu4/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

After that I flashed in recovery mode latest official firmware fw_libra_miui_MI4c_V10.1.1.0.NXKCNFI_13b9b312d0_7.0 and rebooted to system.

Many Thanks @WJYYBSH

Hello WJYYBSH: I have updated all devices (4) with the new rom 20200514 and they have worked correctly. I have also updated the opengapps pico 20200515. Everything correct. The device which was unable to update from rom version of 20200225, with this version the screen no longer freezes and does not constantly reboot.
You are getting a fantastic ROM.
Thank you very much for your work and also to the collaborators.

Hello, why the fingerprint recognition function of Xiaomi 4s is not available?
Thanks!
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I don't have a Mi-4s to find out what happened, the only mobile phone I have is my Mi-4c.
If the fingerprint sensor works properly on lineage-16.0, it should be available in 17.1 (theoretically). However, there might be still some wrong configs about it. Could you provide the logcat when using fingerprint? For example, setting up your finger in Settings (if this setting exists), use the sensor in lockscreen, or something related.

Now I'm sure the hardware quality (even the SOC) is different between different devices, just as different batches of Mi-4c has different screens.
So I underclocked the max frequency of little CPU cores to make the device more stable (it was 1632 MHz before, but 1440 MHz now, stock value is also 1440 MHz). Now the only change left about CPU clock is the min frequency (384 MHz to 302 MHz, also decreased min voltage), which should be safe (also saves more power). The GPU is still overclocked from 600 MHz to 650 MHz, as it hasn't caused any random reboot for now.

Thank you for your reply. The fingerprint sensor of mi-4s will not work on lineage-16.0 and 17.1. There is a fingerprint option in the settings, but when I enter the fingerprint, my device does not respond. I haven't learned much yet. I don't understand what "logcat" is. I am sorry that I cannot provide you with "logcat".

The version of TWRP on your device seems a little old. I'm using TWRP-3.3.1.0 and have no issue installing my roms (I always test my rom before uploading it).

This is a frequently asked question, maybe I should add it to #2 of this thread.
If Chinese/Japanese/Korean is not your main language, just delete "/system/fonts/NotoSansCJK.ttc" to get about 100MB free space. If not, removing the webview packages after installed another one might be a solution.

opening apps is slower than MIUI

Hi all, about 2 weeks of using the rom, i noticed that opening apps is slower than MIUI ROM : for example, more than 10 seconds to open GMAIL, even if i cleaned and killed before all apps with CCleaner. Does i have to disable something to accelerate the process ? Thanks ;)

It's strange to take such a long time to open a normal app, as I never feel my device slow to open apps (even some huge Chinese apps like WeChat, still takes less than 10 seconds).
Did you install some Magisk modules or did some changes to system? Also, did the frequency of CPU stay at a low value (like 960MHz or less) when opening apps (or the device temperature was too high)? How much ram is on your device (2/3 GB, the device might be slow after running out of free ram)?

Hello, thanks for your answer WJXXBSH (you nickname sounds like a robot name ;) ). After posting my message this morning, i decided to "light" the apps in use by disabling their notification. I also did a thing that fastens the system : remove the google app (which is always active for hey google for example). i notice a great improvment : Gmail is opening in 4 or 5 seconds. Magisk is active but no modules installed.

I want to ask you another question : i tried to flash via Magisk some audio mods (vuch as viper4a, sauron, dolby, etc...) : i always failed, even with the Audio modification Library installed in magisk.
Do you know how to have a good equalizer instead ? Thanks ;)

The Google apps usually take lots of resources and performance on legacy devices, so it's recommended to limit its background activity. I don't know much about audio modifications, are you sure all the modules support Android 10 (without A/B partition)? What the error happened when you installed the modules?
By the way, the username "WJXXBSH" is just the abbreviation of some words in Chinese pinyin, so it doesn't have real meanings in English (that's why it seems a little strange).

Hello. Thanks for the explanation about your nickname ;) Since i desinstalled Google app, i really enjoy your rom : really smooth ! There's no error after installing Viper4android, it does not install its audio drivers (it does it with Magisk but when you reboot after install and when you open viper4android app, it says that the drivers are not installed)...
@WJXXBSH :
- could you for another rom add an extra equalizer (Dolby, Sauron...) ?
- will you plan to do another next release ?

Thanks from France ;)

I have heard another feedback about the issue in Viper4Android, but I don't know exactly how the driver installer patches the system, or does something else that incompatible with this rom.
The next release (maybe this weekend) will fix an old issue (since the first version of 17.1), which may (about 5% possibility) cause lockscreen freeze when unlock the device with password.
Now this rom has only two known issues left:
  • media volume lost control (only some specific audio formats will trigger this problem)
  • slow charging speed when using original charger (but not USB)
The lineage-17.1 roms will be updated 1~2 times a month, and the first (or the only) release always includes the monthly security patch.
