Those of you getting Swype to work on this Rom, doing anything special? This is the only rom I've used that I'm not able to get swype to work on. SwiftKey, yes, but not swype.

Thanks.

Weird. I just installed Swype on it a couple of days ago with no issues. It acts a little laggy at times though.

I don't think this ROM is getting much attention anymore which is a shame because it seems sooo much smoother han the cm10 ROMs for some reason

I've seen this said before and I didn't believe it until I flashed it the other day. Doesn't have as any customization options as those ROMs but it does seem smoother and snappier so far.

And I'm totally addicted to the quick nav bar.

Swype works fine if you use the most recent update from goo instead of the most recent from the op... the op was never updated with the newest version of this Rom

Thanks jlshady...I shall give that a whirl with the next update.

I also seemed to have a weird flash in the middle of my screen. not sure if it was gapps trying to tell me it failed (flashed 20121129_signed) or something else going on.

I need help with USB Host Controller. I have an external 3TB hard drive plug into my OTG cable and check USB host Controller. It recognized the device but I'm unable to mount it.

Does anyone have an instruction regarding on how to use any external USB devices with this ROM? Thanks.

You probably need more power. If your hard drive only has one cable then you need and otg cable with an extra pigtail for power. Then you need an Extra power source; for example one of the AA battery USB power supplies.

I had to use one just to mount a USB stick. I made my otg cable and added the extra pigtail. Its to use in the car for diagnostics so I just use a cigarette lighter usb adapter.

New to this rom and I have two questions....is it normal to get an error when clicking themes and it closes and can change the lock screen shortcuts?

This ROM no longer supports themes. I think he just forgot to remove the theme menu item in settings. You can not change lock screen targets.

What I did to correct this was to take the Settings.apk from Hashcode's 4.1.2 and push it to Jandycane 4.1.2. This will remove both the themes section and the goodiebar section out of the settings menu.

Now if I could just get location services working I'd be set on the Kindle Fire...

    For the record.

Since I'm not keen on rumors and hearsay, I figured I'd chime in real quick while I have a spare moment. Jandycane is not DEAD. I simply have not had much spare time lately due to the fact that a product for work is getting ready for release and being the lead developer for it my time is being focused on that. Somehow the bills need to get paid :p

There is still more I'd like to do with this ROM, which requires time that is scarce for me right now. Either way, the ROM is stable at the moment and not dead by any means.

As for the rumored MIUI ROM. It's actually more than just MIUI, it's an attempt to reverse engineer their framework back into java. I'll admit it has taken up some of the little spare time I had but even it is idling at the moment. For those interested the code for that is up on github at https://github.com/ChameleonOS with most of the work being done in https://github.com/ChameleonOS/platform_frameworks_base

But that's a discussion for another day and another thread. I must get back to work but I hope I have at least settled the rumor mill down a bit.

Um, OP. There are already several threads on JB alone, and in case you haven't noticed Hashcode has taken the lead on this. Why don't you join his team and help him port it to CM10?

You must be trolling because you posted the exact same message in another thread. Regardless I will answer this. I have some different goals in mind with this ROM which will focus mostly on tablet devices. A lot of the big teams doing Android ROMs tend to focus primarily on phones and I'd like to see more tablet oriented customizations. Keep in mind all my changes are open to all that would care to use them. I'm a firm believer in open source and sharing code.

Consider yourself lucky for having so many choices. ;)

I noticed root apps constantly asking for permission even when told to always allow. To fix this I opened up the Superuser app and manually updated the binary.

I forgot to add that those that are interested in this port's source code you can use:
    Code:
    repo init -u https://github.com/0xD34D/platform_manifest-jb.git -b jb
    repo sync

You guys are complaining a lot. If the ROM isn't what you want (no gapps, no dev options) or doesn't work for you (poor ram management, facing apps) then just use another ROM... Lithium is a great dev making a mostly aosp ROM adding the features he sees fit. Why complain so much if other ROMs have the things you want? You could always make a ROM yourself or go back to stock
