I have a chinese variant MI 8 with unlocked bootloader and global ROM (10.0.0.2) on it. Is it really needed to flash dipper_global_images_8.9.20 before flashing this in TWRP as I am still in 8.1?
I am planning to do this and correct me if I am wrong:
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot boot recovery-TWRP-3.2.3-0918-XIAOMI8-CN-wzsx150.img
3. In TWRP,
a. Flash TWRP-3.2.3-0918-XIAOMI8-CN-wzsx150.zip (to make it permanent)
b. Format /data partition
c. Reboot to Recovery
d. Copy GooglePixel2ROM_dipper-v3.1sep-20181001-1944.zip to /sdcard
e. Flash GooglePixel2ROM_dipper-v3.1sep-20181001-1944.zip
f. Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache
g. Reboot to System
Since Magisk and dm-verity is already in the zip, I am not flashing these two zips.

I loved this ROM, but the GPS is little slow. And I think the Quick Charge is not present. Am I right ?

2. Because MIUI kernel is a total mess and Sphinx (all Lineage kernels) support Double-Tap to Wake
3. If you mean 5.3 based, then no, it works only on MIUI (doesnt work on LOS too)
how long did you take to get into the lanucher after first boot?
for i just stuck in the 'G' screen for 30 mins........

If anyone wants to remove the clock on the left, so there is more space for notifications then you can install THIS.
You need to have substratum installed and have root. I've tried using SystemUI but the clock always comes back, but with this mod it's gone all the time so there is more space for icon notifications.

From which miui Version do you come from? I fave no issue with the fingerprint sensor
I tried both the xiaomi.eu and the official global 8.9.20. None of them worked.
i came from xiaomi.eu 8.9.20, did a clean format and then installed it. no issue so far, except what's in the changelog

About TWRP and Encryption
TWRP currently doesn't support Android 10 encryption, official TWRP maintainer for Mi 8, said he'll build working one soon.
But encryption in Android 10 itself works fine.
About Magisk
Magisk currently doesn't support new system-as-root layout introduced and forces in Android 10, John is currently working on it, wait for next Canary build.
About VoLTE
It works.
About FPC
Devices with FPC fingerprint scanner won't have fingerprint, because of internal error

I think you want to ask why updates for all my projects were delayed this much? Lately, I have a lot of school work and exams, also recently I got a bit sick, but I'll do my best to release updates normally now. I'm really sorry for this inconvenience. Expect updates for Franco and AOSiP soon.
