I don't know about anybody else, but I get 4G. It shows up as LTE in the status bar. There are times it just doesn't work but it shows LTE, so I just toggle data on then off.

Running the latest nightly and I'm seeing Sprint.

I have been having terrible tower data transfer issues though. I essentially have to reboot if I drive anywhere in order to use data.

My apologies. I should have been more specific in that I'm looking for a version that's on KitKat.

When at school, I turn LTE/4G off because I get ghost signals that don't work. When at home, I am always on 4G as I live in Chicago. So that wouldn't be an issue. In addition, I have never once used Bluetooth.

Those things considered, is a nightly good to run and free of other bugs? If so, which recent one is most stable?

Thanks again!

2014/03/01 is pretty good. The devs are still trying to sort through the fallout from the patches that landed in the 3/3 build, so YMMV with anything newer than 3/1 at this point.

I installed 3/5 and it seemed to work fine, except MMS is broken (message fails to send, saying "no APN specified"), so I restored back to 3/1 for now. I realize that my setup is a bit unique as I'm on Page Plus rather than Sprint, but there are numerous reports about the MMS issue in the toro CM11 thread too, so it's not just me..

Cool, thanks. So MMS, 4G/3G handoff, bluetooth and screen rotation (no artifacts or blurring) are all fine in the 3/1 build?

Hi musical,

Definitely not just you, I received the same error after flashing 20140303. At first I went down the APN edit / reprovision / reprofile rabbit-hole, and was getting ready to do a full wipe and flash back to 20140208. But then I saw a post today over on the CM forums and I realized it was the nightly, not me :silly:

I restored my 2/26 backup and all is fine again - LTE and MMS work beautifully once again. I'm getting ready to reflash 20140301 to see if it works as well.

UPDATE: flashed 20140301 and tested LTE, MMS and SMS. Everyone is happy.

have fun,
john

I'm on 03/06 tried flashing back to 03/01. No go. Phone force closes repeatedly. No nandroid that doesn't drop data so I'm hoping for a fix soon otherwise it's factory reset time, which isn't the worst thing but takes 2-4 hours to get the phone back to normal.

The same thing happens to me occasionally. It shows up as connected but when I try to use data, I get nothing. Once I toggle data, it works.

Try a profile update in the "Sprint system updates" the next time you get the "no APN specified" error. That's what fixed it for me.

Im not long seeing the 3/1 nightly and it I believe the 3/8 build was reported to be the same as the previous few.
You can use the 2/10 snapshot, and edit the build.prop to fix the graphical glitches:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...nogenmod-11-0-nightlies-t2449780/post50605532
Otherwise, as long as you don't need MMS, the latest builds are fine.
Try a profile update in the "Sprint system updates" the next time you get the "no APN specified" error. That's what fixed it for me.
That's not an option for me (I'm not on Sprint's network and any profile updates will always fail), but it's great if that works for normal Sprint users. MMS is broken for a wide range of CDMA phones on CM 11 right now.

Ok ok, is there a work around for MMS anywhere? Or has anyone figured out the recent change?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Has anyone confirmed that MMS is broken on the 3/8 snapshot? I'm pretty sure the cause was the QCRIL merge, and that code is supposedly not in the snapshot:
http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/cm-11-m4-post-release-items
But, as that blog post says, dirty flashing the snapshot over a nightly newer than 3/1 will cause serious problems, because that is actually flashing a downgrade rather than an upgrade.

I would test MMS on the snapshot but I used up my paltry monthly data allowance and it won't renew for another three days... :silly:

CyanogenMod 11.0 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

I believe I found a fix (a workaround, at least) for the graphical glitches. Need to narrow my tests a bit to isolate the fix, but it looks like all that is needed is a line or two in build.prop. Stay tuned!

(Thanks to @JustinXu for finally posting a toroplus ROM with no glitches)

Yep, adding this to the build.prop cleans 'em right up:
    Code:
    # GPU producer to CPU consumer not supported
    ro.bq.gpu_to_cpu_unsupported=1
    14
    Some preliminary shots of cm-11.0

Still some graphical bugs to work out

If you're having data problems ...

Here's my PSA for those who are having data problems on CM11.

If you're in an official, launched LTE market (not an in-process market)

    1. Flash the latest GJ04 radio
    2. Check your APN settings
    - a. Use Voice Dialer and say "Open APNs" or create an APN action shortcut if your launcher supports it
    - b. Use the following settings for Sprint eHRPD internet or Sprint LTE internet:
    -- Password *
    -- Server *
    -- MMSC http://mms.sprintpcs.com
    -- MMS proxy 68.28.31.7
    -- MMS port 80
    -- MCC 310
    -- MNC 120
    - Be sure to click the menu and select "Save" after you change these settings!
    - Avoid using the TING, Cricket, Boost and other MVNO APNs that are floating around. The above settings work just fine for all Sprint users, and will ensure that you can send and receive SMS and MMS.

    3. Go to Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Preferred Network Type and set it to "LTE" if you in in an official, launched 4G market

    4. Install CDMA Tools. Launch the program, go to Menus -> Data -> Others/More -> eHRPD and set it to ON

Reboot your phone and you're as "good to go" as you can be.

If you are in an in-process 4G market (not officially launched), follow all the above steps but in #3 set your preferred network type to "3G".

In-process Network Vision / 4G upgrade markets are torture. Here's the general process that Sprint's contractors are following for cell tower upgrades:

    1. Team A shows up and upgrades the tower's radios and antennas to support 4G, etc. You'll see LTE come and go while this is happening. LTE can be there one day and gone the next.

    2. Team B shows up and upgrades the backhaul (the tower's connection to Sprint's data network). Backhaul can be copper, fiber or microwave. Without upgraded backhaul, there is no bandwidth. FYI, there can be several days, weeks or months between Team A and Team B.

    3. Team C shows up and tests the radio and backhaul upgrades. If everything works, 4G is turned on and stays on.

During the upgrade process, you will hate your phone. No amount of data-toggling, airplane-mode-toggling and rebooting your phone is going to work. As the market approaches the official launch date, things will get much better and you will stop hating your phone. Monitor your market in the S4GRU forums and you'll be fully informed.

Another issue can be the nightly process itself. Nightlies frequently break things, so if stability is your number one goal, then you need to be on CM10.2 or stock. If you can live with frequent breakage and like the thrill of being on the bleeding edge, make sure that you have the latest recovery (TWRP or CWM), the correct KitKat GApps and have at it
