2b) I tried to grab some logcats using adb on my computer. Unable to do so, getting "unable to open log device 'main' " error message. All other adb commands apear to work. Also catlog (app) doesn't capture any logs. Preliminary web search suggests logging may not be enabled in kernel/rom. (?)
3) No Slim Center per OP. :( Really looking forward to having the ability to remove unwanted system apps easily.
5) What kernel tuner app would you recommend to play w/ all the settings mentioned in the OP, or did I miss that in the settings.
6) During early setup I noticed that when you taped a field that needed input, the stock keyboard (don't use it install my fav as soon as possible) would not initially appear until you taped the area where it should be, and then boom their it was.
PS Any plans for layers/rro support?
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated as always.
2b. If I were to enable it in kernel, you will be really slammed on logspam and consequent performance hit. Instead try Developer Options.
3. I know I know. Last I checked, it wasn't that stable. I will include it next time and see what shakes out.
5. Try TricksterMod or my personal favorite Kernel audiutor. (No spelling mistake there)
6. Yeah I know. Its that way even during normal operation. WIP.

Where in dev ops should I look? I've checked everything that looks like it's related to adb or logging, still can't pull a logcat.

Silly question. Under Dev Options have you enabled Root for Apps alone or Apps + Adb ? Also you can try enabling ADB over Network if that's more easier. Also get ES File Explorer or your favorite tool to remount /system in RW mode.

Sorry for the delay in my response, good weekend. Short answer is yes to all of the above, still a no go. Although tbh I'm gonna have to look deeper at mounting /system RW. I look at it one way and is says yes it is but another way says it isn't.

May be time to dust off the S3 and give it to mom to start her smartphone journey. Those Ringplus plans are too good to pass up. Is this ROM stable enough to flash? Anyone know if it'll work on RP? Thanks!

It's sorta stable. PAC is a quite a bit more stable. Aicp is more up to date. But as far as rp, you would need the proper apn.

Thanks, I will see if I can get the APN settings working for RP on one of these ROMs. I see the aicp thread, where is the PAC one? Nevermind, found it in the Android Development thread.

The only problem with this rom is volume on headphones when making a call (too loud). Otherwise works pretty good. My daily driver now.

Okay, I stepped away from Slim for a while and have been dealing with a whole bunch of stuff last year, the smallest thing being moving... twice. Not that you care, but just trying to preface with my excuse for this question:
Where is the DL for the latest build? I must be completely blind and dumb at this point because I have only found the SlimKat build for d2spr/d2lte. Maybe it's just late here and I am drained from the weeks events... Care to lend a hand and give me a free pass? :)

No biggie bro. We all have off days, lol. The one in the op that says " my unofficial builds" has the latest. I think 12/15 is the latest.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=31178
It says tmo at the top, but scroll down. You'll see d2spr.
Hang in there, moving sux.

Thanks for that. Much more than moving. On top of many other things, I have a second kid due any day now.

I went there and to the original Slim site that I had bookmarked and got a little thrown off. Looks like there have been some changes since I was last there. Team changes and new site and the like. Everyone seems to be going through some decent transitions ATM.

Slim went through site org and other Situations. The new slim site is http://www.slimroms.org/

As Madbat said, The AndroidFileHost link in the op would have Latest that I have. With the CM and slim focus on M, there aren't much changes in Lollipop.

Speaking of which, yes SlimM too is coming. Unfortunately I no longer have a Development S3. So I need testers to test out the SlimM alpha versions.

If it wasn't my daily driver, and my backup one wasn't my son's sound machine and youtube player, I would offer. Unfortunately, I have no plans to get rid of my S3 anytime soon, especially with Slim back on it. ;)

As a side note, do you/anyone see a "No Service" in the status bar of the lock screen even though you have service? I think that can be changed/customized but I can't find where.

I am not asking for a device. I am hoping, to find guinea pigs I mean users who are willing to flash SlimM on their device as a tester.

The No Service message or for that matter 4G icons are matter of theaming. Use RRO Layers link in op.

UPDATE

I've been meaning to post this for a while now. Just was pushing it out.

There have been rumblings with Slim Roms as you might have read elsewhere. This has caused delays in developing for Android M or 6.0.1. I just wanted to give a heads-up that there have been delays with updating sources. How long before the builds are ready? I really am not sure. I might be able to get out one build at best, but might not be able to keep it up unless the core trees are maintained and updated.

Unfortunately I ended up trading my S3 as part of my change from T-Mo to US Cell. So now I am relying on Testers to test the alpha builds and provide priceless boot logs and Radio logs. Without those logs, I will not be able to proceed any further.
