Just wanted to say big “Thank you” to Hard_rock83 for this ROM!
I tried many ROMs with my Mi Max 2 device over last year and half.
The main goal was to get rid of Google, to gain maximum of battery life and to maintain working Gcam.
For a while I was happy with 7.1 based ROMs (AOSP Extended, LineageOS-Extended and similar + Gcam mods which were OK at the time but now feel a bit old and outdated).
This time I wanted to try Android 9.0 and this ROM won my internal series of tests.
Only one compromise I had to put up with – having Gapps pico installed (to take advantage of excellent version of Gcam which comes with this ROM)
Nevertheless, once Gapps pico was installed and Gcam worked – I disabled all Google apps/services, leaving them without “device admin”, access to anything and turning off “can adjust system settings”.

What really helped me during ROM installation is FAQ on OrangeFox recovery:

By trial and error, I finally standardized on OrangeFox 8.0.2, which worked better than other versions/customizations

Till I read the FAQ I was not able to gain maximum of battery life and system stability.
Also I have installed only apps which were proven to be ads-free and the versions which work better with Android 9.0 (took me a while to trace and sort them)
Uptodown is great but needs to be stopped if not used, otherwise it drains battery with all it tries to do ?
Now if device sleeps – battery consumption is negligible, can lose 0-1% overnight (without employing battery saving mode or any other additional means).
To be fair I have phone’s WiFi turned off for the most part, noticed WiFi-On drains battery as ~10-14% or more overnight. Mobile data is more than enough for me.
I’m on 20190406 release of this ROM, audio is good, no echo, all sensors work well, responsiveness is awesome, thanks to such a good kernel!

I tried both, in my opinion, Havoc is much more better. It gives you more opportunities and is very reliable.

1. Parallel space on play Store
2. Many available ex avast cleaner, clean master etc etc (I don't recommend any but)
3. Available on okay Store too , choose yourself
4. To remove apps just simply use root explorer and delete the folder of that app or simply use link2sd app it uses root..

I'm running havoc at the moment, but finding the issue with magisk uninstalling frustrating. Are ArrowOS users experiencing the same issue? (Magisk periodically and randomly marks itself as uninstalled so you lose root customisations. It's fixed with a reboot, but frustrating nevertheless)

In which order you flash, you should not flash magisk before first boot, flash rom and graphics drivers v3, gapps, kernel (optional) then boot device

Then again reboot to recovery and flash magisk 19.3. Try this

You should use treble twrp for pie from.. no standard twrp will work..

I read and the TWRP I used is the one from the link in the OP. Assuming will hurt you, DUDE!!

Latest rev 10 from orangefox recovery is said to also support treble
