I initially installed build5 and after clean flashing (wipe+format+dalvik) the phone would freeze into a black screen after the white LG logo (and it would heat up pretty quickly). I checked the Aroma install log and saw that my phone was not detected. It would always be correctly detected as P999 with build4.

I also tried installing with the last patched build5 which allows the user to choose between bb (I'm on the old one). The same thing happened.

In the end, what I did was flashing the kernel from build4 over build5 and it booted correctly this time.

The thing is there is one app now that appears not to be compatible with my device: Yelp ("Your device is not compatible with this version." message on Google Play). I don't know why Yelp would be incompatible with this new build - it seems a little strange.

Anyone else having this issue? Any way of solving it? I really use Yelp a lot for my work so it would be great if somebody could help me with this.
It worked before on any combination ROM/kernel that I've used.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say I installed this ROM this morning and compared to every other ICS ROM for the g2x I've tried this one is by far the most stable and responsive.

Looking forward to the update

FYI if anyone is using the dark EB gapps but would like the dark email flash these...

in RECOVERY mount system and data, then use adb to push to /system/app/

Code:
adb push Email.apk /system/app
adb push Exchange.apk /system/app

then in adb shell

Code:
cd /data/data
rm -rf com.android.email
rm -rf com.android.exchange
cd /system/app
chmod 755 Email.apk
chmod 755 Exchange.apk

wipe dalvik for good measure :)

reboot and enjoy black email with exchange capability

Working with Build 5

**** You will loose your email messages and settings using this method!! ****

One other thing though: Is there a way to customize the lockscreen shortcuts? If not is it a planned feature?

Once again thanks for this great ROM

I recently just flashed build five and I did two flashes. Clean installs wiped dalvik, cleared data and everything u need to do for a clean install. But yet in apps such as instagram and Facebook the thumbnail pics do not show. Just blank grey and black boxes. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Or even have it too?

I tried installing Yelp as an .apk and it gives me the 'Application not installed' error. Build5 with build 4 kernel. Has anyone on b5 installed yelp? Is it just me?

It might be you, i just now flashed build 5 and installed yelp as soon as i could get on Google play! And it works. Maybe is a bad download?? How about you download build 5 again and do a clean install?? You mnow wipe every data/cache/dalvik then flash it and hope for the best and hopefully that would work? & idk if this might help or not but I'm on the v21y baseband.

Hey i am absolutely in love with this rom, however been having some issues with build 4 and now build 5. Is there another build out there that may have fixed these issues that are not on the clockworkmod (they sometimes dont have all of the up to date versions of the rom).
Heres the issues that im noticing in bld 4 and 5:
Clock keeps force closing when trying to access the alarm (which is a big deal as i use the alarm for waking up for work LOL)
Random force closes with the main interface (i forgot exactly what the process what but it had to do with the system?)
Of course the camera, specifically the video camera is force closing, and i believe this is due to lg and nvidia drivers?
Other than these its a few little things here and there, but i really like the ROM. Created a nandroid of BlD 4 but discarded the BlD 5 for now.

Could this be something that everyone is experiencing with these builds? Or could this be related specifically to my device?
Thanks for all you guys do, I have been flashing your roms since I started!

actually, i am curious. This may have something to do with using the ADW launcher instead of the stock EGB launcher possibly? Could there be conflicts between the ROM and this particular launcher?

Well I uninstalled the adw, but I'm still getting force closes when I hit the clock, then attempt to get to the alarm. That's the only big issue right at this moment

Yeah I don't know what to tell you. It seems maybe your download of the rom is maybe bad. Maybe you have a third party app that has corrupted the rom or maybe you changed a setting somewhere that has caused this. These G2x phones are all different though so who knows. I wish I could actually help you lol. The only thing I can suggest is to reflash (clean) the rom. Hope your problem gets fixed man.

Yeah I hope so too haha. I actually used a third party at first but then did a direct and clean install of the rom. I've had this issue both on Hellfire and EGB versions of this so it may be some kind of conflicting software. Maybe I'll remove the backup of adw and try that. I dunno. I'll let you guys know what maybe I figure out.

Maybe use an alarm from the market instead as well.

as always, if you encounter an issue that has to do with the stock rom, then the first course of action is to factory reset, then clean install the rom and before you install anything, verify that the feature is still broken.

Until the next release also be sure to set the frequency (even if you dont want to overclock) since it's default now to something that is incorrect and can lead to random reboots during suspend/sleep

    [SIZE="4"]
    [COLOR="Red"][B]Build 3[/B][/COLOR][/SIZE]

This release of the rom contains a ramdisk that will scan ext(4,3,2)
filesystems prior to mounting. Repairs are done automatically as
needed so if your filesystems are clean, you shouldn't notice anything
different. If they are corrupt it may take a little longer to boot.

    Precautions:

We are asking (insisting) that everyone flashing this version of the
    rom do a clean install.

Factory Reset must be run through recovery. The installer is not
capable of unmounting the cache partition that recovery mounts.

The Option inside the installer for clearing Data will reformat
the data partition only. In the future it will clear all the data
that the Factory reset option in recovery does, but for now it is
    limited.

We are insisting that Factory Reset be used because it's an almost
guarantee that /data, /cache and perhaps /system are corrupt.
Journals only repair certain types of fs corruption and android
doesn't use fsck to repair filesystems. So overtime, especially
with the use of overclocking and undervolting and unsupported versions
of android, these writeable filesystems get corrupt.

Repairing such corrupted filesystems will yield completely unknown
results as far as files that get cleared or duplicated.

In the future however, you should be able to rely on dirty installs
much more, as those filesystems will not get more and more corrupt
overtime. You should also notice that long term use will not
    result in increasing instability.

You can verify that filesystems are being repaired prior to mounting
by checking dmesg via adb or in Terminal. You should not see any
messages about the journal recovering the filesystems when they
are mounted. But more importantly you'll notice things are way
more stable (at least in the force close and random crash department)

    Short version:

    Boot into recovery.
    Factory reset
    Install zip
Leave installation options on default settings.
    proceed with installation.

*Added AROMA installer v 2.0 per ppl request
    *New Aroma settings + theme
    *New Battery driver settings
        CM Battery Driver
        DS Battery Driver
Go under settings/battery/menu enable to your liking
    *New Kernel 2.6.59
Various 21Y patches from faux repo
        Merged in 2.6.59 changeset

    EAGLESBLOOD™ ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
    =======================================
**IMPORTANT** - MUST READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW COMPLETELY

    1. Make a full backup of your current ROM. Then copy it over to PC if you wish.

    2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM). *Note* You should always flash CWM using a USB Cable and NVflash; do not 'flash CWM from the ROM Manager app'.

    3. To begin start by clicking "Wipe User Data/Factory Reset", this will wipe all data off of the phone's memory (not SD card though).

    4. Now click "Wipe cache partition".

    5. Then go down to "Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache".

    6. Choose Install zip from "External SD Card". Wait for that to complete and confirm you see an "Installation Complete" message.

    7. Now, you must flash the correct Google Apps - GApps ICS (gapps-20120212-ics.zip) ...link below.

Once the gapps are installed you can now click "Reboot System". Failing to complete all of these instructions precisely can potentially leave you stuck in CWM Recovery until you manage to build your way back out. This is not fun, trust us.

    9. Done. Enjoy your new ROM!

I don't care who doesn't like what I have to say, but I'm gonna say it anyway. Things were really starting to get going good around here, thus, the return of our beloved devs and the starts of a lot of good new devs. Then I read the first 10-20 posts, I'll be honest, if this was my FREE rom and I heard someone say they were blowing chunks because the "about phone" screen didn't display the latest version, this thread would be locked down and deleted. These guys don't get paid to give us this Cutting Edge code, they do it for the satisfaction of getting those thanks and becoming legends in an exclusive club, I guarantee Doniqcc will be one of our first elite recognized developers. You people are handed a divine right to experience roms the general public never will. I'm not gonna sit back and watch people disrespect any devs that have earned their place and the RESPECT that accompanies that position. I just commented on another thread how nice it was to have all this support and how informative the threads are nowadays, since all the haters are gone. One last thing, not only is it not anyone on Team EB's problem that you can't download because you only have a phone, nobody without access to a computer should be even on these forums. This isn't kindergarten, this is XDA, the world's foremost Android Development Site. If you have nothing informative and respectful to say, don't post it. I'm so sorry Doni for further mucking up thread, I couldn't let this go. Thank you so much Team EB, I and the others that know the difference between CM and AOSP really respect what you and your team's accomplished here, hats off to you guys, LG and Nvidia should be ashamed of themselves. Awesome work!
