Unlocked & rooted...running great. Two issues would appreciate any advice. Unable to link remote. Tried removing batteries, restarting, etc. No luck. In addition to normal back/home button press, search found instructions to press button underside but does nothing. Able to link with stock as well as 12.1 but just can't find remote w/6.0. Second, PlayStore only lists very few compatible apps. Tries various GAPPS with no luck. Is there a particular package to flash? Thanks and Zulu99 thank for efforts on this great ROM.

My GF picked up 2 Nexus Players for 40 bux each brand new off Groupon and I found this rom and it is fantastic! Great work!

I just noticed that Newegg on ebay sold 289 brand new units for $39.99 ea and free shipping, yet every day 5-10 times a day I searched ebay and never saw the add. I was using Google search today when it showed me the Sold Out ebay listing, Google search. Really pissed me off something fierce today. You'd think ebay's built in search engine would show you all listings for the Nexus Player if you use the terms "Nexus Player". 289 units sold in 48 hours between the 15th and 17th, both days I checked ebay like 20 times on and never once found the listing

Im getting "background playback not supported" after installing and trying to use og downloader. I installed apk and xposed mod. But android m seems a little different than other versions. I cant find option to disable and uninstall updates. The og thread says its the proper way to install it.

I had zero problem getting the nexus remote to pair utilizing the back/home button combo, also I did not have to flash any gapps, i have not noticed any missing apps from the play store either.

Going to a Target is an all day event for me. Living in rural New Mexico means I have to buy online or have a dozen other things to do besides just wasting gas on a long Target trip. I might make the trip this Friday though lol. I doubt there will be one in stock though.

Did you take pictures of the $14.99 target price tag? Because the old saying goes, pictures or it didn't happen. That's what my target will most likely tell me. Lol

So weird, so you opened Bluetooth pairing on your TV and held down the circle and arrow (aka back button) both for 3-4 seconds, then select the menu button on the TV and choose search and still nothing? Not trying to assume step where not followed, just trying to make sure I was clear enough.

If that doesn't work idk then, maybe a reinstall but I wouldn't think would work if other devices pair properly.

Just for info:
Also DroidMote have voice to text functionalities. Are based on google voice search.
So there are no differences in voice recognition.
The good, is that you can use it on all apps because the voice is recognized and tranformed in text.
In alternative, you can connect also an usb mic ( webcam + mic for example ) to make standard voice search. ( example: OK Google )

I have a 4 year old son too, he use an old galaxy s3 with droidmote client inside to control youtube for kids, youtube and netflix on Nexus Player. But in my case he made searches clicking with the mouse and swipe gestures.

About the Prime Video app, if work on tablet, should work also on this firmware. I don't know because i not use it.

I immediately unlocked the bootloader and flashed this ROM.

I use a K400 keyboard that works fine in TWRP and of course in this ROM, but I've to remap the right button making It as "Back" button.
I have an overscan problem about 1 inch, I fixed It with UI Tuner (40,20,40,20) but when I use Youtube, main app fits well but when I start a video I have black borders... youtube works @ 1080p.
Then I have softkeys problem that they does not hide when using Netflix (leanback). I will remove editing build.prop
Nexus Player goes in black screen stand-by after a few, so I unlocked developer menu and checked "Stay Awake".

Netflix for Android Tv (leanback) does works @ 1080p (I took it from apkmirror)
Netflix from market (standard) does works @ SD resolution

I will hard test the Rom in next days and I will try to help you and Zulu, if He wants...

Go figure.... Tried installing LolliRock and still unable to pair remote. Back to 6.0 and after many many more tries, up pops up detected device 'Spike'. I selected and now my remote works just fine. Hallelujah!

There is an app from the playstore called Rotation Lockerhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.rotationlocker . Just download and install. Sometimes, as you will learn with Android Tv, apps that you get will force portrait mode. When this happens, simply go open your Rotation Locker app and choose Landscape. There are a couple more advanced features to it but this is how I use it. There's a widget also. And one cool feature is it includes a Tasker/Locale plugin so you can automate the rotation switch based on different profiles. Hope this helps!!

NP about to become expensive paperweight!

Finally got remote working, apps sideloaded, configurations set and logins completed. Everything running great. Then all of a sudden, lost WIFI connection. Reset modem/router, forgot/reactivated account, rebooted NP, even reflashed system. All other devices on network working fine. Setup says NP connected but no access to internet.
Settings says ststus connected, signal strength excellent, link speed 144mbps, frequency 2.4ghz.
Any suggestions?

sounds like its connected to your network just fine.

id troubleshoot your network.. also keep in mind some routers only allow a certain number of connections
