thanks, I've tried using fast boot just didn't get to figure it,I also tried out using wungfresh it has cmd/fastboot flash options that didn't work or I didn't do something right wished it was easier to just flash a zip[emoji14]

Hi! I've installed it and it's great, after some fine tuning you can do almost anything you want

However, I haven't been able to get DTS, and that's key for me, it's my media box after all.

Can anyone please help me out?

meaning this is not possible at all on an Amazon Fire TV 2?

This box is a beast but it takes so much effort to even get The play store to work lol

I'm having problems with this rom, first when i installed and set it up everything was working then when i tried to play a video on youtube it got black screen and the sound was on but i couldn't exit so i pull the power cord and restarted the nexus player then it got to endless optimization of apps and bootloops. So i reset it from twarp recovery and started all over again now its the same thing youtube behaves the same, i even checked the developer options disable HW overlays

try disabling H/W overlay (developper) it should fix your youtube issues

everything work well if you don't have an app that provocate the bug on hardware overlay. ( present also on stock firmware and also in lollipop )
if this happen, disable HW overlays in developer settings solve the problem. ( in lollipop full android firmware by default i disabled HW overlays, you can enable it manually )
In this android 6 firmware is enabled by default ( as it should be ) and at next start up HW overlays is enabled again automatically if you disabled it and is necessary for DRM apps. like Netflix Google Movies etc.
the bug not happen if you don't have an app that provocate the bug, like click on settings of old skype versions.

maybe you have installed an app that provocate the bug at startup, usually are old apps versions, not updated for android 6 and based on old sdk.
But this is not a problem of the app, is a bug of nexus player never solved and present in all firmwares. less visible in stock firmware because many apps are TV apps and not standard apps. But if you use a standard app that provocate the bug on stock firmware, you have the same result that you have in this firmware. If you use the normal youtube app, you can see a black screen.


If someone want test the bug, can install an old skype version, click on settings ( you see a black background on settings menu item ) after this action, you can go in standard youtube app and see the black screen.

new skype versions are not affected. to have skype working, you must start the device with webcam connected.

I cant get "play music" to work in the leanback mode (the one you provided with mouse support). It just loads quickly in leanback then exits and opens the default android one. What version do you use zulu?

I recently installed the latest version hoping to use my webcam in hangout, but still hangout does not detect the webcam.
I have a 4 port usb hub connected to the OTG cable and the webcam and mouse are connected to the hub. The mouse is detected and i can use it. But the web cam is not detected.
My webcam works and i can use it on my ubuntu desktop. It doesn't work only with the nexus player. is there any additional setup required?

The camera has to be compatible. Must have proper android driver

Forgive my ignorance, but will I be able to use two 1TB drives with this ROM? I store all of my movies on these drives and use Kodi to play them. I'm still on 5.1.1 because 6.0 couldn't do this when it first came out. Thanks

The camera works on my Ubuntu Linux desktop. With it I'm able to do video chat on Skype.
Hence i thought it would work with Android too. Is my assumption wrong?

if anyone got the webcam to work, can you please share your model and make?

I don't have a webcam to test but on some units I've setup (matricom gbox) the webcam must be plugged in before you install Skype (rebooting doesn't seem to help)

I haven't been able to figure out how to change the Cast Receiver name. Hostname / Wifi Name / Bluetooth name do not change it from "Nexus Player"

Logitech webcam work on hangouts. Usually you need an UVC webcam. Connect the webcam before power on the device.

External disks formatted in exfat and NTFS can be mounted with the app stickmount and used in all apps.
The kernel have inside also support for exfat and NTFS
