I've got a quick question. If I'm listening to music while browsing on Chrome with the latest GPE rom is it normal for the top half of my phone to get hot? I know that the top half is where the CPU is, but I don't feel like browsing the internet and listening to music should be CPU intensive. Anyone got some app or anything that could help me?

No WiFi after rooting? Stuck on turning on. Pls help I have flashed NB1 modules already. WiFi only works if I don't flash SuperSU.

Thinking about installing GPE safestrap. Does anyone have or know of any video of this ROM? I'd like to see it in action.

I suggest to flash it for you to experience the rom first hand. This rom is just KitKat 4.4.4 AOSP.

MAKE SURE TO READ THE OP BEFORE GOING CRAZY AND INSTALLING.

Is there a 4.4.4 version of the GPE for SS before all the Lollipop addons. I'm not a fan of material design and would like my S4 to look and feel like my N7 (2013)

There are two roms in this thread. Pure Nexus and GPE. If you want full stock AOSP get the GPE version of this rom. Read the OP and you'll see it there.

I got to where I wanted to be. I hate the white background that's a part of material design and the latest versions of the google search app. So I used titanium, uninstalled it and installed the last version 3 app. Problem fixed. So new question. The only stock Samsung app I use is S Health. Is there any way to get that working on this ROM. I'll need ANT+ working too.

No. Use Accupedo instead.

Hey guys,
need some help here, up till a day ago I was running my s4 with the nexus experience rom with happiness, now I've upgraded to the note 4,and my wife has the s4, she factory reset the phone, and now I can't find the apk for the WiFi tethering I had found through this thread, and also found a camera app that saves the pics straight to the SDcard, which I think was put together by cynogen I think ..

Was wondering, actually hoping that you guys would post a link to both if anyone knows what I'm talking about ...

Thanks...

@Joe-Tech any News When are you Coming Back Can't Wait for the New GPE 5.0.1 Release, Eagerly Waiting for that Day to Come :fingers-crossed:
We don't have a working base for 5.0.1. The "Release" you refer to may (likely) never happen.

I have spent countless hours trying to get an AOSP ROM to boot on the stock kernel. It just hangs on boot, which is not debuggable, as we dont get to a point where we can view logs.

Using really low level debugging, all I can see is that it has something to do with Samsung's crappy ART implementation. (No, the recent XPosed on TW will not help with anything here).

No offense to Joe here, but he left that file, and said it booted. I tried to replicate, and many others did, but no one could get it to get past the boot logo. ART just spazzes out and prevents anything else from happening.
