I have noticed in this and also in other 4.4 ROMs (all based from Cyanogen Mod base), that the "stagefright" command is missing from the shell? is this part of KitKat or is it specific to Cyanogen Mod ROMs?

Nightly #1 :
- OTA Updates
- New Carbon app for rom downloads here
-Minor bug fixes
-wifi improvements
-wifi hotspot
-many more

1st carbon nightly seems still to be a no big release as for our devices, as I already provided them unofficially :p Still it's worth a try and now coming with OTA's you need not ask for ETA's. It will be there on your phone once new nightly is up.. Enjoy guys.. It's official now.. :D

Cool, great thing! :) But where is this Carbon app? I don't see it... And I see that the notification bar is no more transparent on Home screen, like it was before (and it was changing colour to app background sometimes). Testing more... :)

I have yet to upgrade. On the previous rom, editing the /system/build.prop to have ro.config.low_ram=true turned off the transparency of the notification bar. I also think that there was what appeared to be a menu item in settings, somewhere.

I just checked mine and I had it off (ie NOT low_ram), but I set it to true. I find if you switch to expanded desktop, it becomes less prevalent as they disapear when not required.

ooops... just lost my panels on my lock screen. Thats not good. Back to a setting of false.

Hi,

I liked your ROM very much however I found bug.

1. Missing Calendar.apk which I really use.
2. Browser lag. Chrome and Opera runs smoothly.
3. DSPManager applied effect to my bluetooth (Sony MW1 headset) at Speaker tab. When I plugged headphone, the effect went to Bluetooth tab with audio disturbance when you select any options.
4. Launcher.: I can't select default screen to my home, no effect option to select.

Something I notcied when I turn on the recents panel (with longpressing the home button) - see the attachment below. The names of apps are blurred (I didn't made this by my own!). It happens sometimes, and it's weird :)

And another thing: I tried to have mobile data on all the day and... my battery went down from 100 to 35%. Do it must to drain the battery so much? (I guess Google Services are draining most).

It really happens, but not always. Sometimes when I go into recents menu all names of apps are blurred (and the blurr effect disappears when I try to swipe app out).

What exactly do you mean? Does the low_ram option should be enabled to make the rom run smoothly? Could we get the option to enable/disable it in settings? And is it really safe to switch this setting?

it dont really affect the phone or the performance. if u want to enable the transparent status bar then use some file expolore with root access and navigate to system/build.prop and edit the line ro.config.low_ram=true to ro.config.low_ram=false

Ok, maybe I'll try. But what's te purpose of this setting? What does it exactly do? I don't want to mess something up if it's important... Will I get less ram or sth?
@vishal_android freak : Thanks for response :)

The browser simply has the same lag issue - it works veery slow and stutters... Dolphin works fine - better than stock browser, but I really want to have stock one (lightweight and nice) :)

@vishal_android freak: What's the best GAPPS package u can recommend us for this rom and Ray? :) With all libs and so on.

And one more question: When I put some google app into gapps package (for ex. Google Home or Keep) to have it on system partition - is it needed to add some lib files or others too?

Hi,

Happy to see the new nightly was uploaded.

I flashed this ROM and seemed having problems after using gapps for KitKat.

It fails everytime I wanna login into Google account.

I tried full wipes, install latest nightly followed by latest gApps for KitKat = error login and seems to hang there.

I tried again full wipe and install rom, reboot and arrives at home screen. Reboot and install Gapps. After reboot, I still can't login with Google account.

Restored to last backup (previous nightly build)
