well it might work if the app had permission to even back up the apn...did exactly what the post said to do and it won't work :/
You MUST move the app into system/ priv-app in order for it to gain the necessary permissions in KK. It will NOT work if it's placed in system/ app.
I tried that and sadly es explorer wont let me move it into that folder
Root Explorer is the way to go.

I don't know and I don't care what is this but his work is great! Running his ROM almost one week and the feature "Battery Saving" in the last build is really amazing! My Nexus 4 runs almost 36 hours with all network connections enabled! I'm wondering why the other developers didn't embedded this in their builds?!

Sometimes a simple reboot fixes minor bugs. To me works well. It can also come from a dirty installation. If the bug persists try to do clean install.
