Re: [ROM][AOSP][LINARO] CarbonRom JB 4.2.1 [d2spr] » Feb 6

Why make the claim if it's not?
If you bought a vehicle that said turbo then looked under the hood and there was no turbo then it's not a turbo. When you look at code you can tell if it is "patched" with linaro but not truly linaro. I haven't seen the code for this but I'm gonna bet that it's patched like a leaky ship!

Question about the rom...... Does wifi tether encryption work yet? And why does browser occasionally crash?
WiFi tether encryption works... Browser has been rock solid for me so that I can't answer for you. As for the linaro discussion its been beat to death man, if you wanna bask in it go look at the old liquid d2spr thread...if you want to help make the number of repos that are Fstrict and O3 compliant then we are accepting pull requests...I'm actually working on something that will be EXTREMELY linaro compliant for a few reasons and if you poke around the branching of our git you can see what I'm working on...

No more of this Linaro crap! If it has some Linaro optimizations what is the big freaking deal?
If you build a Linaro kernel or ROM then YOU say FULL Linaro code/No patches!
I am sick of this starting up everywhere the word Linaro is used
None of you have a copyright on the word
You don't believe it? Don't use it!
If you want to discuss with the developer how to fully optimize it to Linaro then move to the developer's discussion area!
You make accusations and admit to not even verifying them? THAT is trolling!
Anymore of this crap will be met with infractions
Thank you for your cooperation

in case anyone is wondering, the delay in seeing the boot animation is due to added support for boot audio. we haven't included any in there, but if you want, you can do so by placing any mp3 named boot_audio.mp3 in /system/media.

early impressions: very smooth, very little graphical lag.
one issue, my PRL is "unknown". I'm going to work now so I don't have time to re-apply my prl, but i've never had to re-apply it for any reason.

EDIT: PRL is back after second reboot. Used Pandora in the car this morning...ad2p works flawlessly...and I thought I was getting better signal overall. Now to fix MMS again.....sigh

Everything seems to be working as it should with the exception of MMS. However, I can't determine yet if that is a ROM-side thing or network thing. I picked up some LTE signal today too, which made me super excited. Great work guys! :good::laugh::victory:

Kenny, I respect you and we are familiar with each other from the OG Epic days, but everything I seen so far regarding the linaro debate been favor to the accusers. Great Offender did not start this argument, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't trolling either like many he want something to be prove to what it's said to be and not a derivative of it. BigwillyG, I think that's his name, made an accusation and provided proof for his accusation and had proof against those claiming the ROM is actually linaro, why was nothing done and the dev was favored? And another thing, how is the ROM built using Google's tool chain, but can be still called Linaro isn't that false advertisement?

Can't seem to find chronus settings. Need to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Couple of other questions:
1) the lock screen notification bar shows a strip of the regular wallpaper and not the lock screen wallpaper.
2) I cannot seem to figure out how to make the notification menu not default pull down quick settings. It's always the quick setting tiles never the notification.

Thanks

Even with everything discussed and explained to death there is still things that are not right with this whole situation. I won't dive deeper into the discussion with you since I will most likely be banned if I do and you, the dev won't because of my title as a member. This whole thing can be settled if the title of the thread is changed there won't be anymore linaro based discussion in this thread.

sad to see that headset mic/volume controls are not functional yet :(. I presume it's because the upstream BT changes in cm are not being used?

Love the ROM! Fast and smooth. I have dpi set to 240 and when I get incoming calls, the answer screen orb that you drag to accept or deny is really off center. Is there a way to fix this? Or an alternative. Thanks.

Same to you Masaidjet. I am only going to say this once so everyone can see....XDA does not care if a ROM claims to simonize your car while you drive! It is not violating any forum rules. The users decide whether a ROM is good or not or live up to it's claims. The OP states Linaro optimizations...not fully built on Linaro. I left in the post as absurd as it was to make an accusation without even verifying. That is against the respect rule. ROMs are advertised as "flawless"yet users find bugs...should we lock those threads? Can anyone prove there are no Linaro tweaks in this at all? What I am saying is keep this bickering out of the development threads and let users report issues and get the help they need. Go to PMs, gtalk, Google +, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Joe Flacco's mom's bedroom....I don't care. Just keep it out of here. I have seen this in every Linaro titled thread and it ends here!
Thank you all for understanding and your cooperation.

Only issue I have seen is setting fc when trying to set up swift key when it links to input settings. Should be easy to replicate.

Does Bluetooth streaming work on this sexy looking thing? Very tempted to flash because I liked liquid, but hated how unstable it got with no updates...

Not saying the ROM doesn't play a role in this (I'm sure it does) but please contact swiftkey for support with their KB...

Will do. Just letting you know because I have never had this issue before including when I ran 3 different builds of liquid. Keep up the good work!
