You have to use the k400 to set up

If you reboot with your k400 plugged in, you can complete setup and get going. The remote will pair with this rom just like it does on stock (hold home/back), however it isn't useful on full blown android at all. Your k400 is your new best friend. You can opt to download the Leanback launcher (link on one of the first few posts in this thread), however you're going to severely cut the functionality of the rom while in that launcher. So I successfully flashed LolliRock Rom and then flashed the SU root file but when the ROM boots I am unable to input anything on the screen. Is the NP remote supposed to pair? I've tried multiple times but cannot interface with it. What's the trick?
edit: I do have a Logitech k400 that I would like to get working with it and I bought DroidMate also but can't get past the main screen after boot.
How do I pair the k400 with the Nexus Player? I tried using a unifying receiver with a OTG cable but my OTG cable won't fit in the Nexus Player (L shaped connector blocked by the HDMI cable). Was I on the right track and just need a different OTG cable? Thanks. If you reboot with your k400 plugged in, you can complete setup and get going. I just came to say I have been using lolirock. This is awesome to have full android on my tv. I got a wireless keyboard with a built in mouse/touchpad. I love it. Thanks for all the work on this. It is so great.A suggestion that not many people know:
When you attach an hardware keyboard to your Android device, the software keyboard disappear. Valid also with DroidMote that simulate an hardware keyboard. If you want both keyboards, software + hardware you can.
Settings -> Language & Input -> Current Keyboard -> Hardware on / off
Look the screenshot below.
I not use the software keyboard, but can be useful in some situations.

If you have an Android phone, i suggest to try my DroidMote to have the best experience from your couch. So you can have also real multi touch for the interaction.
That's going to be hard. What you can do is get a diff USB otg and everything will work. You may have to set it up with a USB keyboard and mouse then pair the Bluetooth keyboard. How do I pair the k400 with the Nexus Player? I just realized I have the K700 (Logitech Review keyboard), not the K400. Am I screwed?
I'm using the k700 from my revue as well. works just fine just pair it to a unifying receiver with a pc then plug that receiver into your nexus player.
Thanks I will try those suggestions when I get back home. I need a better OTG cable as mine has that L shaped plug which gets in the way of the HDMI cable. For first setup usually i get a simple usb mouse with otg cable.
With the mouse i set up my google account, install DroidMote Server and in DroidMote settings i select " start on boot ". When the server is started i can interact with Android without problems also with multi touch apps and games and especially without bulky hardware in my hands.
It goes into sleep mode. You can extend the time in settings. If you don't have a mouse, you can wake the NP by pressing the button on the bottom of the NP.For some reason after not using the device for an extended period of time I cannot wake it back up. Is this happening to anyone else? I have to unplug it and plug it back in to turn it back on...
Yes is normal because many air mouse are not made for Android, but for Windows. Chinese manufacturers modify Android source code to adapt some air mouse and in many case ruining the input subsystem of Android for compatibility with others input devices.Hey, great ROM many many thanks! The one problem that I have with the air mouse MiniX Neo M1 is that the button BACK is working as ENTER. Is it normal?
The thing is its not. The mouse doesn't wake it up. Neither does the button. I thought daydream might be broken but it wasn't that either. Seems to happen if its not used for a day. Anything less and I can usually wake it upIt goes into sleep mode. You can extend the time in settings. If you don't have a mouse, you can wake the NP by pressing the button on the bottom of the NP.

Note:
This video is just a visual example, the firmware is much faster.
I'm recording in real time with SCR app at high resolution, while using many apps.
The little hardware remote work, but for this firmware is preferable to use a mouse and keyboard.
Personally i use DroidMote because i can have mouse, keyboard, multi touch actions, soft gamepad and voice dictation all in one.
I love Android in TV and i use it from 3 years. I made this firmware for my personal use, because i like Android in my Tv with standard Android apps, that are more accessible and fast and with customizable launcher.
Google says to use a different USB portI'm having a problem when trying to flash the system.img, is giving me an error saying FAILE (data transfer failure <to many links>
I second the k400. I have two of them. One for my Nexus Player in the bed room and one for my computer down in my living room.My k400 has never failed to wake my NP via mouse movement.
Also, couldn't you enable developer options and turn on "stay awake"?
