I guess you were due for an upgrade?

Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515a using xda premium

I just upgraded Sept 2011. When I asked about the OneX she said she could ship it out for the price difference of 35.00
It's an offer that I can't refuse, I do love the Evo and my wife has one that needs updated to KC 2.3

Any plans for work one the OneX Turge? I'd love to have KingCobra rom for my phone if I do upgrade

Sorry mate

Let break this down for once more..
You mean i need to install a kernel first at the aroma installer and do reflashing kernel with boot.img via flash image gui? Sorry.. It's confusing me, mate..

Exactly.. Since you can't flash the kernel via Recovery, my installer copies the kernel to /sdcard/KingCobra3D/Kernel/boot.img for this specific purpose. After you install the ROM, Just browse to the boot.img using Flash IMG Gui and flash it.

So the point is, i need to repeat the ROM instalation, choose anryl kernel for instance, once it's done, i flash a boot.img via flash image gui? Is that correct?

You can reflash the rom if you want, but since the kernel you previously selected when you flashed 2.3 is already on your SD card, just flash it and ignore the error message:

What did i missed?

Why don you just flash kernel through computer.
If you are unlocked by HTC Dev put your recovery in that folder where you had this fastboot and other things.

Type in cmd folder destination
Type in fastboot boot cwmrecovery.img
And you are in recovery and have the same options as S - OFF. You can flash anything you want. I did that.

Turge, your rom is awesome - love it <3

The most important, it's stable and the battery is so good. I've tested several roms, been at most on Shawn3d, but overnight battery was consumed 5-10%, that's too much. And the drain durign the day was big, was so frustrated.

I've flashed anryl kernel, and i'm very, very positively suprised, impressed!
Now I'm testing/stressing/using/calibrating the battery, will post some screenshots. later.
since this morning, from 11h til now at 15:16h battery is at 49% with following use:
wlan on
brightness auto
screen almost always on
sync on and auto
browsing, updating apps, running several apps
imo im on 3 accounts
footmob soccer alerts for several games
reading pulse news
plume tweeter
facebook reading news at home page
sending/recieving some sms messages
few calls (8 mins)
listening to mp3 music, 30-60 mins
battery is not warm, will play Jelly Defense, that turned my battery to 40-45 on other roms

i'll stop now :)

I'm just saying - WOW :D
You did a wonderful job!

Above mentioned usage:
- about 12 hours. Detailed graph available in the link gallery.
- Max battery at 31 Celsius, but average 24-25
- Display 78%
- Antutu bench = 4844
ETC...

Here is a Drobpox gallery, screenshots are taken with power + home keys combination. mostly Battery Widget pro and System tuner pro to see what is the usage of the cpu, and how long the battery lasts.
Here is an bug - the unlock button is invisible, it's visible when i power on the screen (previously was locked auto or i locked it, can't remember precisely) and when i touch the left side of the screen the unlock button becomes visible. i think i had this bug also on Shawn3d, not 100% sure.

You got the same score in AnTuTu with Stock ROM and LeeDroid kernel. Even the battery is the same I think.

Not understanding you if thats good or bad, sorry. (But i'm guessing the score could be better:)

Anyway, i'm satisfied with it.
Cpu is max at 1.18, i don't need anything more. It's stable and for what i need everything executes very fast for my needs.

EDIT: Will try with setting the max bar at 1.5 in System Tuner and see what will be the score and the usage then.

The score is very low.
Phone is really fast if you use Stock rom and LeeDroid kernel. The AnTuTu score is 5600+ and battery life is 1% in 60 minutes.
5600+ is on 1.5ghz.

Is this a same way just like flash from a recovery right? I don't think pc is necessary because we have all we need here, flash image gui and recovery from bootloader isn't it?

I just understood that you can't flash kernel.
And when I had that kind of problems I just do it through CMD.

example:

cd Desktop\Android

fastboot boot cwmrecovery.img

Your phone goes in recovery mod.
Clean cache, clean dalvik
Install zip from SD card.
Reboot.

And I wasn't S - OFF so I had to do this. I didn't like the Flash GUI. Nothing worked for me. :D

    Install
There is a great guide on how to flash a custom ROM here: http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/how_to_flash_htc_evo

Install latest version via ClockWorkMod recovery. If desired, flash a custom kernel immediately after (See "Kernel" section)

    • When coming from a different ROM, perform a factory reset. This will clear all of your data so backup your apps first using Titanium Backup and backup your APNs to your SD card using APN Backup & Restore
    • The system and cache partitions will be formatted every time the ROM is flashed. Dalvik cache will also be cleared.
    • Download the ZIP file to your SD card
    • Reboot into recovery and "Install ZIP from SD Card"
    • Reboot

    Issues

    • If the camera crashes during video capture, change the codec to H264 or set the resolution to HD.
