Anyone knows officially how many Android OS updates is promised? Being a Mi device I am hoping for 3 updates. Also curious if there's been any development regarding OSS Vendor.

I recently updated to the 20230117 build via OTA.
Then I -extracted the boot.img via shell -patched it with Magisk -flashed it via fastboot, but I got a bootloop and couldn't get past the MI logo.
I had to sideload the ArrowOS build again.
It works now but I am still without root. Anyone having similar experiences?

I had success when I flashed Magisk via sideload
adb reboot sideload
adb sideload Magisk***.zip
press lower volume [short] - press on/off [short] - that it worked for me

Btw I had no problems rooting the tablet by extracting the boot via adb and patching it with Magisk. And thanks for this rom, works great.
Upgraded OTA from the December built to this January 17 one without problems. I installed Magisc in inactive slot before reboot and I was able to maintain root. The installation took 2.5 hours for some reason. I now have native face unlock which is nice. Also Chrome doesn't crash anymore when location is enabled.
The only minor issue I encountered is that the face unlock did not work at some point after update "due to inactivity". I input the pin code and was able to enter but I found this a bit odd. Otherwise the ROM is flawless

Next to random shutdowns I can confirm that since last update Bluetooth is messed up for some devices (ford car audio). Constant connect disconnect cycle.
Resetting, clearing app cache and the usual does not help.
Anyone experienced this?

its a security feature. once you logged in w/ pin again, it works again. it only happens, when you havent used the pad for some time.
Nope, everything works perfectly on the latest build in my case.

Does anyone else have this issue with the bottom bar? It disappears when I swap apps but it still comes up from time to time. I have the appropriate navigation bar turned off, so I'm not sure what the cause of it is.
The recents overview (recent apps UI) is now (since last two android versions now*) a part of Launcher3 components and not frameworks (unlike previous old android versions) so changing launcher nowadays is not that smooth sailing experience unless that launcher is based on current android sources and has the recents overview component to actually replace launcher3 (and to replace, would actually need you to mod system)
Was anyone able to run genshin impact smoothly? I'm getting frequent freezes every 3-4 seconds.
Mine run smoothly on the highest setting with minor framedrop when the device gets hot (which not a problem for me because im using a cooler)
Something i realized is that the device's performance is not running at it's full speed for some times after it was shutted down (reboot/shutdown)
Which again, not a problem for me since i could just do something else for a couple of hours and it will go back to it's full speed
Weird، I tried disabling all magisk modules and went even further to update my adreno driver with different configurations from poco x3 pro, since it has the same processor. 3Dmark shows higher numbers than stock but no changes from stock when it comes to genshin. I'll try reinstalling the app again and maybe reset my device.
I did find that method later on. Wasn't aware it existed till after I'd already pushed the boot img in haha.What I'm doing is, after installing the update don't reboot, go to magisk, install and use the option "install to inactive slot (after OTA)". When you reboot you will have the latest build rooted

After rebooting 5 times I got a version of Dolby Atmos (seems to be old) and the bug disappeared after an hour. Magisk Modules needs to reboot to apply but luckily I think there aren't any which I want because I don't need anything I think except if you highly recommend something.11
Hmmm, that's too complicated for me... I'm back on latest Global MIUI and I'll wait until an update us out which gives that problem. Bit thanks anyway.1
This is only for Mi Pad 5 (NABU). Any other devices will get a bootloop. Maybe you can find an unofficial ROM. -

What firmware to use? Any that works for you if you can't decide to use whatever your region 's fw is. I see a lot of people blindly flashing CN fw.

I do not own the Xiaomi Keyboard, it seems the latest changes broke it for some users which should be fixed in the latest release.
A lot of people are asking me if this is a good tablet for art or not. I am a simple man and have very basic tablet needs. I do not own a pen (too expensive) nor can I draw something good. Please, can someone with a pen or knowledge of apps which works best for artists give their short insights so I can refer people here?7Planning to buy a Mi pen to support it
