I installed this yesterday and saw the note about not taking any OTAs. AT&T kept offering them to me, but I would close the window. On one occasion I clicked postpone, this may not have been the thing to do because overnight, it installed the OTA.

I found the fix and have since installed another ROM, but I wanted to post this warning so that other users don't fall into the same trap.

OTA Install Forced and Soft Bricked my phone

OTA Software Update was forced to install without my permission overnight. I woke up to my phone soft bricked and stuck in the TWRP recovery. If this happens to you, there is an easy way to fix it through TWRP TERMINAL. No PC connection necessary.

before trying anything else just type in these commands

What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command was to type

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota

then hit enter

type

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc

then hit enter and reboot.

I wish this ROM had a way to block the OTA Software Update from running. Even though I did not click to install the software update, the update went through anyways while I was asleep. If you are planning to use this stock ROM, you have to find a way to block the OTA UPDATE from running. Otherwise your phone will get soft bricked eventually and you will have to unbrick using the instructions above.

I used the app called Uninstaller (root) "Its icon is a red recycle bin in the playstore" and uninstalled lge fota permission (among all the LG crapware) with it. No more worrying about over the air updates after that.

    Unbrick from accidental OTA

So, my wife had my phone and saw the update pop up and accepted it a while back. Boom, bootloop, TWRP worked but no Download Mode to return to stock. So, here is how you can fix this. I found this searching for a solution. I am sharing what I learned:
Open terminal command in TWRP and type:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota

    press enter

    then type:

    dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc

    then press enter
    Reboot & Enjoy
    This is useful to remember

Yeah I wished someone would have warned me before I took an ota update. Mine bricked. I had to send it in to LG. It on its way back. Hopefully fixed.

Strange indeed (this is why I use TWRP). Flash THIS and it will fix that.

    thanks that did it!
