Thanks buddy but sounds like I'm on the wrong ROM anyway now boss?

I get the very strong impression your 2.3.4 roms where it's at now!

Oh gawd - its that obsessive ROM flashing thing all over again. I swore I wasn't gonna be like this again dammit.

:)

probably the default oc was too much for some phones. dont worry. i ll lower those values in next version

Completely guessing here, but as a tip if it ain't working (I got the same refusing-to-turn-on-screen issue): In the Hero era, the device refused to turn the screen back on every now and then if the clock speeds where _too low_.

Again, no idea if that's also the case here but if might help if you're scratching your head as to what's causing it :)

Just wondering about people's opinion - the pros and cons of this ROM (1.1.0) vs baad's 2.3.4. ?

Cheers, Marty

Not enough difference for me to move to 2.3.4 from 2.3.3. I have run both and currently you can't OC the 2.3.4 rom. I am running InsertCoin 1.1.0 right now OC'd to 1.5ghz and it is crazy fast as well as very stable. IMHO if you want to test go for it, but for a daily driver, InsertCoin 1.1.0(android 2.3.3) is the way to go.

Thanks, ok, I will stick with the 1.1.0 Android 2.3.3 ROM for now.
I did a bit of looking around and the difference between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 is mainly bugfixes and a few small features - most that dont even apply to this phone (NFC improvements etc) - perhaps slightly better battery life.

I would love to see 2.4 but hey - not yet.. That will be better for dual core and above CPU's - some more solid support. (however even that will need an update to make the most of them...)

Thanks again for your comments.

Oh what do you use to 'set' your CPU to 1.5ghz, ? "daemon controller" seems to do the job ok....

Warmly, Marty

I use setcpu, I can get to 1728mhz reliably, but anything past that is unstable. 1.5 seems to be the sweet spot. Im sure I could up it to 1.6 but I don't really see a need for it. Phone is blazin at 1.5 as it is with this rom and ADW EX launcher. Can't stand the sense UI.

Hey baad, Just realised that the version of gmail you include is the new one that does not let you have custom notification sounds, and it also breaks all the third party notification apps.

Would it be possible to put the previous version in the ROM and people can then update from the market if they want to?

If not, does anyone know where there is a clean, reliable apk?

Warmly,
Marty

HELP! Cant install apps on phone!

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled this rom twice already and keep on getting the same issue. none of my apps will redownload on the phone, it will install a couple of them and then after that it will just say "There is insufficient space on the device", but when I check phone storage it shows that I have 893MB available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What rom did you have on the phone before?
Did you do a full wipe before install?
Are you 'restoring' your apps from a backup, (Tiutanium, mybackup, nandroid etc) or reinstalling from scratch?

I am very much confusing that what is the difference between the InsertCoin Sensation 1.1.0 and the RC3~4 ????

the one you're using according to signature (RC3-4) is based on android 2.3.4, and this one is based on 2.3.3. 1.1.0 also has a custom kernel with OC daemon etc.

Baad - your default.xml needs this changed to fix MMS:

Code:
    <!-- MMS UA string -->
    <module name="MMS">
      <function name="ua_string">
        <set name="single">
          <item name="value">HTC_Sensation_Z710e/1.0</item>
        </set>
      </function>
    </module>
to

Code:
    <!-- MMS UA string -->
    <module name="MMS">
      <function name="ua_string">
        <set name="single">
          <item name="value">Nexusone</item>
        </set>
      </function>
    </module>
Confirmed on mine to have full sized MMS after a data wipe and this fix.
