One thing, do you have a Windows 7 computer or laptop, you might have to flash the Hairybean files from ABD and fastboot, it might not be allowing the TWRP 2.5 to overwrite the newer 2.6 on there not.

I look at the post #1273 page 128 in this thread , and this person has the same issue. He downgraded to TWRP2.5 from TWRP2.6.3.0 as you suggested. He stated "I did that and worked fine. Now I just noticed that when I load "Upgrade Hairybean 2.31 (4.2.1) Bootloader & TWRP (2.5).zip" via TWRP2.5 and it reboots to flash it, the message: "signature mismatch" is displayed in the top left corner and the push is cancelled", and there is no follow up threads of how to solve it. Thus, if I downgrade to TWRP2.5 manually, I will end up "signature mismatch" when I install "Upgrade Hairybean 2.31 (4.2.1) Bootloader & TWRP (2.5).zip" via TWRP2.5. So I am not sure this is a good option.

When you get to the Install Zip screen in TWRP to flash the HairyBean file is the box next to "Zip Signature Verification" UNCHECKED ?

Yep, the "Zip Signature Verification" was UNCHECKED. I did try one time with this box check and it failed due to no MD5 file. However, I did run the MD5 tool on these 2 zip files and they all matched.

Thanks for your help, Nektopoli . Now my tablet is back to stock ROM. Everything is running fine now. Do you thing I need to root my table in order to install Upgrade+Hairybean+2.31+(4.2.1)+Bootloader+&+TWRP+(2.5).zip and Hairybean+2.31.zip? If I root my table, do I need to install OTA RootKeeper?

Try flashing the Bootloader and TWRP only, see if that gets you on the correct bootloader -> 10.6.1.27.1 Once you fix the bootloader issue, update to the TWRP to KANG's TWRP 2.8.5.1 and from there you can flash TWRP 3.1.0-1
After you update to the most current TWRP then start flashing the ROM, GAPPS and SuperSU.

It looks like you flash the new bootloader and TWRP 2.5 using the stock Asus recovery console and the file on a microSD card. I don't have the stock recovery anymore.

When the bar is filled, it reboots back to recovery and at the left corner I can see that the bootloader is "ww_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711" A03, and I can see 3 icons(but no USB icon). I power off the tablet, do the normal power on, and it boots to stock ROM successfully. Then, I power off the tablet and power back on into the TWRP and it is version 2.5. I notice now my computer does not recognize my tablet USB any more. I am not sure why. Then in TWRP, I accidentally go to Mount (Mount icon), mount the system and power off the tablet. When I do normal power on and the tablet stays at the ASUS screen and does not boot into the stock ROM anymore . I am not sure what happens.
Edit: I am able to recover the PC to recognize the tablet USB in fastboot, ADB, and APX mode. I reinstall the "Upgrade Hairybean 2.31 (4.2.1) Bootloader & TWRP (2.5).zip" again, and normal boot still stay at ASUS screen and does not boot into the stock ROM.

Can mount the system in TWRP wipe out the stock ROM?

Right now don't worry about the ROM, once you get TWRP 3.1.0-1 you can install the KatKiss ROM v7.1.2

You don't really have to "uninstall" the old ROM, you wipe the system partition before you install the new ROM and that cleans off the old ROM
just make sure you get the TWRP installed before making the jump to 7.1, installing the wrong TWRP will brick you tablet.

So right now you're on 2.5 from here install 2.8.5.1 and then 3.1.0-1 then follow the instructions and install 7.1.2

The 3.1.0-1 image was installed successfully. I reboot the tablet and went to recovery and it got an error in red. On the upper left corner of the tablet, it said the following:
Key driver not found.. Booting OS
Android cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "WW_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711" A03
Starting Fastboot USB download protocol
Booting recovery kernel image
Booting failed
Unrecoverable bootloader err (0x00000000).

Luckily the Fastboot is still working. I am not sure what did I do wrong when installing the image. When installing the 3.1.0-1 image which option should I choose, Recovery or Boot? How can I recover this error? Please help.

When you boot into the Fastboot menu, can you access the recovery console via the green RCK button?

Do you remember when you flashed the the TWRP if you checked the [STAGING] button?

I recovered the TWRP 2.5 and the bootloader 10.6.1.27.1. I used install zip to install TWRP 2.8.5.1. When I in TWRP 2.8.5.1 "install" menu, I don't see any [STAGING] button. So, I am not sure where this button is. When I choose "install image" from 2.8.5.1, I only see2 options, the Recovery or the Boot. Which option should I choose? Last time, I chose the Recovery, and I got the error.

Ok, there's one step in TWRP3.1.0-1 that might get missed from time to time, so it might get missed with 2.8.5.1.

Before you flash the ROM you have to make sure you MOUNT the system partition, this is done from the main TWRP page;

Click [MOUNT] > Check box next to [SYSTEM] (top line under [Select Partitions to Mount:])
Click [Select Storage] (Bottom kind of centered, grey button)
You will get a pop-up, check circle next to [Internal Storage]

Also, you can toggle between [INSTALL IMAGE] and [INSTALL ZIP] on the page where you select the TWRP image file, it won't show the image file
if you have ZIP selected and vice versa.

And you should select [RECOVERY] when is give you the option, not [SYSTEM]

Yes, you must check the box next to system to make any changes, this also much be check to flash the ROM and support .zips files

Ok, I mount the System by checking its box and leave , the "Cache', "Data", and "Ext/card" boxes alone (checked). Then click the "Select Storage" and select "Internal Storage". Then I choose "install image" and choose the Recovery. The image installs successfully. I reboot the tablet and go to recovery (RCK). The same error occurs.
Booting failed
Unrecoverable bootloader err (0x00000000).
