had to replace my old 3D due to broken screen. Thanks to Ram for his guide since the replacement was a 1.58 / s-on and I was coming from a 1.4 / s-off...learned not to restore wimax from my nandroid!.

now I can't remember how to decrease the haptic feedback. It's so strong and noisy on this unit I had to basically turn it off but I miss the slight vibration now.

I swore there was some way to do this but for the life of me can't remember. Rooted 1.58 jbear 2.89 base

If you still have your 3D, is there any chance of an update for the new 2.95 base? Meanrom on the 3d is a bit long in the tooth, but rock solid for those of us still on it.

I don't normally post in the development forum but this is where the other OTA update threads were created.

The Sprint version of the 2.95.651.5 OTA can be downloaded here. It includes some firmware updates, patches and replacements for system files, and the Sprint Connection Optimizer apps.

Here's a firmware only zip file for any Sprint Evo 3D user that is S-OFF and on the 1.09.00.0706 baseband level and would like to update. The stock hboot 1.58, recovery and boot.img have been removed so that installed custom versions of those files do not get replaced.

I have my wife running this ROM pretty well until recently. For the past 10 days or so, her phone hasn't been "right," with screen locking, GPS issues, etc all pretty inconsistent. I'm beginning to wonder if she took the OTA while I was out of town, since this was the first that was released since I've rooted her phone. Y'all think the new FW could hose things up a bit on this ROM?

She wouldn't be able to take the ota while running a custom rom. It will get a status 7 error. The new firmware won't hurt the rom in any way. have you tried clearing cache/dalvik?

Yep, tried that last night... Was really hoping I would have an easy fix...I JUST reaplced the digitzer about a month ago.

No problem, man. Some roms have an issue with data getting corruption after months of usage on the same rom, It's hard to pinpoint why since we are all flashaholics and roms don't last long on our phones haha. I assume it's dalvik related though.

You think, then, a dirty re-flash might help? She doesn't want another ROM flashed, since we're hoping to be upgrading to One's soon.

you should be able to do that. Why are you getting the htc one out of curiosity? have you looked at the specs? It doesn't impress me. I love htc, but look at the samsung s4 specs, now THAT'S impressive

Yep, I have. To be truthful, I'm of the opinion that most of the flagship are pretty much on par with one another, with basically no huge advantage one way or another. It all comes down to matter of preference. You can go absolutely bonkers trying to keep up with the next best thing. My wife and I like and/or are used to Sense, and the non-removable storage/battery thing isn't a deal breaker for either (my wife's still running the stock 8GB SD in her 3VO), though understand how it might be to others. The One has some cool features (Zoe, and I'm trying to keep an open mind about Blinkfeed) that will be nice, if they work as advertised (good reviews thus far), and outside the removable stuff, I don't think anyone can argue against the uni-body design. My daughter has an S2 my wife used for a while, but neither of us really cared for (which is why my wife went BACK to her 3VO). Had we started with a SGS2 rather than the 3VO's, I'd probably be singing a different tune.

Thanks for your input I'm still on the fence about which phone to get. I think the s4 eye tracking and air touch are some amazing breakthroughs, which is pulling me toward it, who says I won't get sense working on the s4 haha

Thats good that you did a review, but this ROM is an orphan. Mikeyxda moved on and no longer supports this ROM.

Agreed.

You might want to install negalite blurom and review that if you want something more up-to-date. AFAIK that's the only Sense 3.6 ROM so far that includes the March 2.95.651.5 OTA updates.

2nd that. As long time users of MeanRom, we wouldn't recommend another rom lightly, especially in another's thread, but the sheer expanse of Aroma installer options makes NegaLite like a custom rom kitchen and overdue for a review.

It's official now

Saw this post by ohbuckeyeman in the blurom thread and found this one by mikeyxda in his MeanBean (JB for the the Evo 4G LTE) thread.

I don't remember mikeyxda ever giving us the official word in this thread that MeanROM ICS was dead (his last post was August 4th) but I guess most of us figured that out anyway. Looks like his development for the Evo 4G LTE is wrapping up as well. So we won't be seeing an update for the 2.95.651.5 OTA.

Here's another post on his move to Verizon and development for the Note 2.

And another one here with his reasons for choosing Samsung over HTC.

I still appreciate his contributions to the Evo 3D when he was active on this device.
